COLD FRONT ALERT! With Louisville temperatures getting bitterly low over the next couple days, the Kentucky Humane Society wants to remind pet owners to keep your pets safe. Do not leave pets outdoors when the temperature drops. If you have outdoor dogs, bring them inside or at minimum in a heated garage. Pets are at risk of frostbite, hypothermia and death during extreme cold snaps, and wind chill is particularly dangerous. Exposed skin on noses, ears and paws can quickly freeze and suffer permanent damage. If you care for community, unowned cats (often called feral cats), be sure their water dishes are not frozen and they have access to extra calories. For water dishes, use deep bowls rather than wide ones, and refill them with hot or warm water twice a day.

Just a friendly reminder dogs ares no longer allowed on chains inside the city limits of LaGrange. If you see a dog on a chain report the address to animal services and we will have an officer check on the animal.

The Animal Center will be closed from Wednesday-Friday of this week for the regularly-scheduled quarterly cleaning and maintenance period. Animal Control operations will not be affected.
