Congratulations to Dr James Chicklo and Gerrards Cross winning the Colleen Stakes yesterday at Monmouth Park. She was raised at Castle Gate Farm. She was the paddock buddy of Tessellate who won first time out last weekend at Gulfstream Park.

We currently have two OTTB geldings ready and fully let down — and possibly a few more coming soon. Before we post them publicly, I’d love to give our friends and connections the first opportunity. If you’re in the market for something and these two aren’t the right match, feel free to reach out — we might have something coming in that fits what you’re looking for.

1. Chestnut Gelding – “Playing With Fire” aka Peanut
4 years old, likely around 15.2/15.3hh (we’ll stick him soon). He’s got a great motor and would make an incredible polo prospect — forward, athletic, and can go all day. He was born here and started with us before heading into professional race training.

2. Dark Bay Gelding – “Sargent Saunders” aka Brandon
Also 4 years old, at least 16.2hh and uphill-built with a star. This one is a powerhouse and will definitely turn heads. He was a $75k yearling purchase, now retired and let down properly.

Both boys had minor, fully healed tendon injuries from racing — it’s been almost a year since they were last in work. They’re not restarted under saddle yet, but both were professionally broke and trained for the track.

I hate the sales side of this, so thank you in advance for your patience! Reach out if you’d like photos, or to come see them. Happy to chat about them. Both in the fours.

Remember POE? CGF first born foal. This is his new life. My heart couldn’t be happier.

The Story of Sophie and Kona

My name is Sophie, and I’m 14 years old. This past year has been full of challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments—especially with Kona (previously known as Poe) my off-the-track Thoroughbred (OTTB) who has become my best friend and biggest teacher.

When I first met Kona, he had recently retired from the racetrack. Everyone told me he would be a difficult project, but I saw something in him that reminded me of myself—a kind old sole, with a big heart, full of untapped potential. Through months of patience, groundwork, and quiet time just building trust, Kona and I formed a bond that changed both of our lives.

He has taught me the power of persistence, empathy, and believing in something even when it’s hard. We now compete together at local open shows—not for ribbons, but for the joy of showing how far we’ve come.

As the president of my local 4-H club, I love mentoring younger riders and sharing what I’ve learned. I just graduated middle school and was accepted into the Veterinary Assistant Magnet Program at Santa Fe High School—my first big step toward becoming an equine vet.

I don’t know where the road will take us next, but I do know that wherever I go, Kona and I will face it together—one stride at a time. His new name is Kona.
