Good morning!
We had a great opening day yesterday—huge thanks to everyone who came out to kick off the season with us!

A couple of pics from opening day. Felicia was our first customer of the season, a couple picking proving that it is never to late to make some new memories, and of course Duke. He was relaxing taking it all in yesterday. There are still some ripe berries in the field, but the majority of the fruit will really start coming in next week and the week after. If you're planning to travel a long distance, we recommend waiting until then for the best picking experience.

The next two weeks will be peak season, so it's a perfect time to plan your visit! In addition to berries, we’ve got plenty of blueberry jam, handmade soap, and plants available. The jam is flying off the shelves, so if you're hoping to grab a case (or more), don’t wait too long!

Good morning!

We had a great soft opening yesterday, and we want to thank everyone who stopped by to help us kick off the season and let us work out a few kinks before our official opening. We were honored to welcome Mr. Bill Barnette as our first visitor of the preseason. Bill and I have been friends since sixth grade, and it’s hard to believe it’s been 44 years since we first met in school. Bill is one of the good guys—busy with his role at CoAdvantage and actively involved in numerous community events.

Our official season start is next Wednesday! We’ll be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday through Saturday. We look forward to seeing you next week!

We’re thrilled to announce a soft opening this Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM! I picked this bucket today and was amazed at how much fruit is on the bushes. After this Friday, we won’t be open again until April 9th, so if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by! The picking will be good, and we can’t wait to see you. See you on Friday!

You know what this photo means—Abshier Blueberry Farm is almost ready to open! Our official opening day is April 9th, and we can't wait to welcome you back.

We'll be open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our prices remain the same as last year, and you'll find all your favorite items, including our delicious blueberry jam, plants, and soap.

While not all of our blueberry varieties are ready just yet, we expect plenty for picking next week. If the berries ripen sooner than expected, we may open for a day before our official launch—so be sure to follow us on social media for updates.

We’re beyond excited to see you all again this season! We’ve missed you and look forward to another great year at the farm. See you soon!

Hey everyone! I had a nice surprise Saturday morning when I looked out across the blueberry field and saw the SpaceX rocket launch taking off. It was already a beautiful morning but that made it extra special. Blueberry season is getting closer! We’re about two to three weeks away from opening, and we’ll send out updates as the date gets closer. It’ll be here before we know it!

Hello friends and neighbors! I hope your 2025 is off to a great start. Blueberry season is just around the corner, with a likely opening date at the end of March. The exact date will depend on the weather, but we’ll keep you updated with weekly progress reports. I snapped this photo yesterday morning, and if you zoom in, you can see that it looks like we’re in for another fantastic blueberry crop this season. We can’t wait to welcome all of you to the farm!

We’re also considering a fun new event: a baking and cooking contest featuring your favorite blueberry dessert! The top 3 contestants will win a cash prize, with local celebrity judges determining the winner. If you’re interested, please email us at [email protected], and we’ll send you an entry form. If there is enough interest, we will plan to have this event every year. The event will take place either the second or third week of the season, so now’s the time to dig out your best blueberry recipe and start practicing. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

For all the past soldiers who have fought and died for our country, we remember you today. For all of those who are currently serving in our military we remember you also and thank you for your commitment to keep all of us protected. We also want to say thank you to our son Cody who is serving in the United States Marines and is currently deployed in the Phillipines. We all miss you and look forward to your safe return.

The 2024 blueberry season at Abshier Farms is now over. We appreciate everyone that came out to see us this year and we hope you enjoyed it as much as our family did. From all of us, including our granddaughter Gracelyn and Duke, we hope all of you have a safe and prosperous 2024. See you next year!

We took this picture today. Just a reminder tomorrow is the last day of the season. We will be open from 8-5. Picking will be pretty good and we have a few pints of prepicked berries in our cooler if you get here early. See you tomorrow!

VERY IMPORTANT!! We are changing our last day of our blueberry season from Wednesday, May 15th, to Thursday May 16th due to weather. There is almost a 100% chance of rain tomorrow and 0% on Thursday. We will be open our regular hours of 8-5. Please share with your friends and family to help us get the word out. Thanks.

We have some good news! We will be opening Wednesday, May 15th, from 8-5. This will be our last day of the 2024 season. We still have some great areas to pick if you haven't made it out yet. There will also be a few pints in the cooler that will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. We hope to see you then.

Sunday we celebrate Mothers Day. Let me introduce you to a special one in our family. This is Stephanie Locklear our daughter in law. She is staying with us while her husband Cody is in the Philippines with the USMC. She has her hands full with our grandchildren. They have a 4 and 2 year old, and a 7 month old who keeps her very busy. Happy Mothers Day Stephanie and to all of our moms out there. We will be open tomorrow from 8-5 and we still have lots of delicious blueberries in our field. Come see us before they are all gone.

It’s always nice to see grandma’s with their grandchildren headed out to do some blueberry picking. The end of our season is approaching fast so come see us as soon as you can. We still have lots of blueberries in the field for picking and a cooler full of blueberries available for pick up if you don’t have time to pick. See you soon.

Hi everyone. Picking this week will be amazing as we still have a lot of ripe blueberries in our field that have your name on them. These pictures were taken today in our field. We are down to our last two weeks of picking so come and see us and bring a friend to pick some of these delicious blueberries as soon as you can. The season will be over before you know it. We have set our closing date as May 11th. If you don't have time to pick we have a cooler full of delicious pesticide free blueberries if you would like to place an order. Good morning. We were fortunate to have our original farm crew together back at the farm this season. Our blueberry farm wouldn’t be what it is today without the hard work of all of my family. My cousins Peek and Linda Hames, my parents Roy and Lou Abshier, and my wife and I. So many great times and memories shared with all of you. Great news, we still have a lot of delicious blueberries in our field. We will be here for the next two weeks and then the season will end. Come make some memories and fill your freezer before the season is over.

Good morning. We have reached the midway point of our blueberry season. If you haven't made it out yet we only have two or three weeks before we close for the season. The good news is the hot weather we had last week really helped ripen up our fruit. This week will be a great time to come pick. Remember, if you don't have time to pick your own you can still call us at 352-817-2660 to place an order to have them picked for you. Our days of operation are Wednesday through Saturday from 8-5.
