The Friends of North Reading Parks & Recreation is looking for community service volunteers or those who would like to volunteer for this Wednesdays, July 15th Concert/BBQ. This is our 29th year for the event and we appreciate all the volunteers do for our North Reading Parks & Recreation, but we can't do what we do without you!

We especially need volunteers for the 4:30PM to 7:45PM slots at Ipswich River Park, Gazebo Area, 15 Central Street, North Reading

Greetings all! Wednesday, July 8th is looking like a FANTASTIC day to come out and enjoy our festivities. At 5PM our BBQ Opens, at 5:15PM we have the super popular Mike Piazza's Flying High Frisbee Dogs, sponsored by Reading Cooperative Bank and at 6:15PM we enjoy the sounds of the White Street Band, a rock & blues band sponsored by GraVoc Technologies and the Gravel family. Parking is free, the entertainment is free and the BBQ has family friendly prices. We accept cash and credit card but fees apply for credit card. Also, never forget to visit the ice cream station (cash only) where you can pick from our colorful menu board.

So bring a comfy chair or blanket and we'll see you there!

Are you a high school student who needs community service for next year? Why not get some or even most of the hours done this summer while enjoying the outdoors and music. We need volunteers to assist with our BBQ operations, serving food or even help us set up prior to opening. This event, 2026 Summer BBQ & Free Entertainment Series is a fundraiser run by the Friends of North Reading Parks & Recreation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Our mission is to foster and promote the North Reading Parks & Recreation Department who manages Ipswich River Park. A very successful last BBQ tonight. Lots of family and friends made it so much more enjoyable. The food was excellent, Dave the clown was fantastic, and the Perfect Crime Band was unbelievable. Thank you to all of our sponsors and our amazing volunteers to help make this work it takes a village and we did it. Until next year.
