A not-for-profit animal welfare organization, HSCI does not receive federal, state or local tax dollars. In addition to nominal adoption fees, HSCI relies heavily on donations from individuals, foundations and corporations who also have a commitment to animal welfare, and fundraising activities. The HSCI has donation support of over 900 individuals and volunteers who dedicate countless hours each year. The organization spay/neuters over 1,000 animals and helps more than 2,200 animals annually.

Finn's adjusting well to his new life (and name)! He loves playing with his siblings, Nala and Tyson, and going on walks. 🦴 His fur-every family says he is the best cuddler! 🫂

Bender waited 237 days for a home.

Today, a man came to HSCI after saying goodbye to his dog that morning.
He was dropping off donated dog food when he spotted Bender on a walk with staff.

He stopped.
Looked again.
And came back inside to say:
“I want to take home Bender.”

Some stories feel a little too perfect to make up.
