🐾New Shelter Update 🏗️

Hi friends! Stetson here with my final shelter update of 2025! I hope you all got a chance to watch the video tour in the last post (if not… go sniff it out 🐕👀).

This update and photos below shows off some of the behind-the-scenes magic from the past few weeks; interior painting, beautiful tile work, and casework that is really starting to make this place feel like a home. Every time I peek inside, there’s something new to wag about, and it’s all thanks to the incredible people putting in so much care, time, and talent to bring this dream to life 🩵

As we close out the year, I want to make one small but important plea with my biggest puppy eyes on 🥹- there is still time to make an end-of-year gift to help us cross the finish line. Every single donation, big or small, has played a role in getting us here, and we are so deeply grateful to each person who has supported this project along the way. You’ve helped build more than a shelter. You’ve built hope, safety, and second chances❤️‍🩹🐶🏠🐱

We can’t wait to welcome all of us into our brand new home in 2026🎉

🐾New Shelter Update🏗️

Hi friends! It’s me, Stetson- the handsome, bouncy guy who may or may not be mid-air in the photo because I was very excited to say hi 💚

Here’s your weekly new shelter update, straight from an adoptable pup on the inside: The rain, weather, and soggy ground have continued to slow down the outdoor work, but don’t worry, just because things are muddy outside doesn’t mean progress has stopped inside! When we visited yesterday, tile work was happening, and wow… things are really coming together! You can see ceilings going up and painting being finished (peep the conference room and the Execitive and Assistant Director’s offices) 👀

I’ve also heard a little rumor (dogs are great listeners 👂)… once we’re cleared to walk on the beautiful, sealed floors, there will be a video of the inside posted later this week, so stay tuned for that!

In the meantime, don’t forget- you can come out to the shelter to meet me (and other adorable, adoptable pups like me 🐶). We’re also hosting Home for the Howlidays, a short-term foster event! It’s a great way to give a shelter dog a break, or even “test drive” one of us in your home. I, personally, promise to be the best playmate and the cuddliest boy you’ve ever met ☺️

🐾 New Shelter Update 🏗️

Hi friends!! Stetson here 🐶- 8 months old, boxer mix, former Warrick County wanderer, current very important reporter. I have BIG news and LOTS of tail wags to share!

First things first… GUESS WHAT?! 🎉
Sweet Nugget got ADOPTED last week!!! I’m doing zoomies just thinking about it. He found his forever family, and we are all so happy for him💛

Now for the construction scoop 🏗️:
Mother Nature has NOT been cooperating, so outside work is on paws for now ☔️ But inside?!? OH WOW. Things are really happening. The walls are being finished, the floors are being sealed, and I can already tell this place is going to be AMAZING 🤩

Our lobby is coming together with a front desk that looks very official (I plan to supervise from underneath it). We have three beautiful meet-and-greet rooms connected to the main dog kennel areas, plus two private adoption rooms so families can ask questions, fill out paperwork, and spend calm, cozy time getting to know their new best friend. Tile work is almost finished in all the spaces, and every day this shelter gets more beautiful, more functional, and more ready to help dogs like me 🐕✨🐈

I also want to say a HUGE sloppy-kiss THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support this project. Your excitement, generosity, and belief in this shelter mean everything. If you’re able, please keep giving. Every donation helps bring this space (and more happy endings) to life.

And um… while I have you here 🐾👉👈
I’d like to humbly remind you that I am still looking for my home for the holidays. I’m a playgroup guy. I’ve made lots of dog friends here, many of whom have already been adopted (you’re welcome 😌). I’m fun, friendly, and would LOVE to trade shelter naps for couch cuddles before the holidays roll around 🩵

I’ll be back soon with more updates and hopefully a story about my adoption.

🐾 New Shelter Update 🏗️

Hey friends, it’s me, Nugget- reporting live from the new shelter site! I’ve been doing my usual sneaky walkthroughs, and I’ve got some news to share. 🏠

The rainy weather slowed down the crew’s plans to pour concrete outside (even I know you can’t pour in a puddle!). But don’t worry, the inside is still buzzing with progress and lots of finishing touches are getting checked off the list 🤩

I’ve gotta be honest… I’m really excited about this beautiful new space. But as much as I love reporting from the construction zone, I’m hoping to find my own home for the holidays ❤️

Even with the weather hiccups, things are moving right along. I’ll keep sneaking in for updates… strictly for reporting purposes, of course. Stay tuned, friends, and thank you for cheering us on as we get closer to opening our new home🐶😻

🐾New Shelter Update 🏗️

Hey friends, it’s Nugget reporting from the new shelter site! Even with the holiday this week, our amazing crews kept working hard to bring this place to life.🤩

Over the next three weeks, things are really going to take shape- tiles, floors, and walls will all be completed! I can already picture all the happy paws that will be running around here soon.🪜🔨🏠

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has ordered items from our wishlist to help furnish our new shelter. Your generosity means the world to us. 💛

We’re getting so close, but we’re not done yet! Once the interior finishings are wrapped up, we’ll still need to install all of our indoor and outdoor kennels before we can officially welcome our furry friends (and the public) to this beautful space!
