I hate ticks. We treat our yard and our pets but with all the rain our indoor/outdoor cat had a tick on him. A lone star tick. This was 2 weeks after having to say goodbye to our senior kitty. We removed the tick but called the vet and insisted we get seen, just in case. He’s just now finishing up a round of antibiotics, just in case.
Please make sure your pets are treated for ticks. Get in the habit of checking for ticks.

Dear Universe, I had enough to worry about. Now I have to stress about my cat dying from a tick bite? Can we please just not?

⚠️ Possible storms on Monday – let’s keep our pets safe! 🐾

Please take a few extra minutes to prepare:

🔒 Make sure all gates are locked and fencing is secure
🏠 Do NOT leave pets outside during storms
🐕 Remember—there is a leash law. Do not let your dog run free
🚪 Do not open doors unless your pet is safely contained

A few extra tips:
🆔 Make sure your pet is microchipped and wearing ID (microchips reunite families faster!)
📸 Take a quick, current photo of your pet—just in case
🛏️ Create a safe, quiet space inside where your pet feels secure
🎶 Use calming music or white noise to help reduce anxiety
🧳 Have a leash, carrier, and essentials ready in case you need to leave quickly
🚗 Never leave pets in vehicles during severe weather

If your pet goes missing, contact us right away and come in to check—don’t wait.
