The Randall’s Island Park Alliance, Inc. (RIPA), founded in 1992, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works with the City of New York and local communities to provide an innovative and exciting destination through a wide range of sports venues, cultural events and environmental exploration. As the dedicated steward of Randall’s Island Park, the Alliance sustains, maintains, develops and pro

grams the Park to support the wellbeing of all New Yorkers. The Park offers over 330+ acres of parkland, nine miles of non-vehicular pathways, wetlands, an urban farm, a track and field stadium, a 20-court tennis center, over 60 athletic fields, and the Harlem River Event Site. Join our Natural Areas team at the Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh from 9 AM - 12 PM. There, patrons can learn about our manmade salt marsh, how it protects us from flooding and erosion, and about the amazing creatures who call the ecosystem home. Registration not required to attend this free event.

Thank you to everyone who explored the Harlem River with Randall’s Island Park Alliance at our free seining event for City of Water Day 2026 on Saturday, July 25, 2026! 🌊🌊

At the event, New Yorkers stepped into waders and dragged a seining net along the Harlem River to collect aquatic organisms. Researchers use seining to monitor the health of our estuarine ecosystems. On Saturday, we identified fish, crabs, and jellyfish—discovering the incredible biodiversity in our waterways.🦀🐟

Our event was one of dozens happening across the region as part of City of Water Day, now in its 19th year. City of Water Day is organized by Waterfront Alliance (Waterfront Alliance) and the New York–New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program) to champion a climate-resilient NY/NJ Harbor. Each week at the East River Picnic Area from 11 - 11:45 AM, enjoy a free class with dedicated instructors from Sweet Water Dance & Yoga. We'll be cycling through salsa, merengue, bachata, and soca! Get your body moving after a relaxing yoga class. Registration not required. See you there!

Join us Saturday morning for Yoga in the Park!🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

Each week until September 1, Nauti will host two free yoga classes at Randall's Island Park's East River Picnic Area! Tuesday classes are from 6:30 - 7:30 PM, while Saturday classes are from 10 - 11 AM. Stretch, breathe, and find your inner peace in our park! All abilities welcome.

Registration not required. Limited mats are available to borrow. See you there!
