We are no longer a rescue, we are simply a sanctuary for pigs that we already have here & cannot take in any new pigs. Our mission is to provide an open herd sanctu

ary in a natural environment. Although our hope was to save as many abused and abandoned pigs as possible our reality is we are only a few and can no longer take in any additional pigs. We are here to provide protection and care to the remaining herd that is with us now. With the growing epidemic of abandoned pigs brought on by breeders and the myth of micro and mini tea cup pigs the need is beyond our abilities. Please be sure to not confuse us with Noah's Ark On Wheels & Noahs Ark Farm, they are wonderful as well, but we are soley a pig sanctuary. It was brought to our attention some people were mixing our websites up.

🐷🐱 Volunteers Needed at Our Sanctuary! 🐱🐷

It takes a lot of helping hands to care for our sanctuary family! We currently have 27 pot-bellied and mixed-breed pigs, along with 6 cats waiting for their forever homes who are living in our outdoor catios.

We are looking for some wonderful volunteers who would like to donate a little of their time to help us keep everyone happy, healthy, clean, and loved. ❤️

There are lots of different ways you can help, depending on what you’re comfortable doing:

💧 Watering the pigs
Emptying and refilling their water bowls using the hoses throughout the sanctuary. At times, this also includes emptying, cleaning, and refilling their small kiddie pools—especially on those hot Florida days!

🧺 Piggy laundry
Our pigs love their blankets! We have a washer and dryer right in the main barn, and we can always use help keeping their blankets washed, dried, and ready to go.

🧹 Cleaning pig areas
Raking up manure, putting it into a wheelbarrow, and taking it to the designated dumping area.

🌾 Cleaning stalls
Removing old hay and straw from stalls and replacing it with fresh bedding to keep our piggies comfortable.

🔨 Handyman help
If you’re handy, we always seem to have something that could use a little attention! This may include fixing gates or fencing, making repairs to stalls, and helping with other small projects around the sanctuary.

🐷 Piggy socializing
Yes, sitting with the pigs is helping too! Spending time with them, giving belly rubs, talking to them, and helping them become comfortable around people is an important part of their care—especially for our pigs who are hoping to find homes.

🐱 Cat socializing
Our adoptable cats need love and attention too! You can spend some quiet time in the catios petting, playing with, and socializing the cats while they wait for their forever families.

You don't have to do everything on this list. Even helping with one or two things can make a big difference! Whether you enjoy working with animals, don't mind getting your hands dirty, are handy with repairs, or would simply love to spend some time giving our animals attention, we would be very grateful for your help.

Our sanctuary depends on people who are willing to give a little of their time to help us continue providing these animals with the care and love they deserve. 🐷❤️🐱

Our sweet boy Anton knows exactly what he wants—a good belly rub! 🐷💕 Every time I go into his area, he comes right over, flops down for his belly rubs. How could you resist that sweet face?
Anton and his daughter, Anika, are looking for a loving forever home together. They are such a special pair and would love the chance to become part of a family of their own. ❤️

Lacey.
There were 2 little female pigs running loose in Crews Lake Park. Ag Department caught them and brought them to me. That was in December of 2011.
They were both spayed in January of 2012.
I named them Lacey and Rielle. We lost Rielle a few years back and just recently lost Lacey.
Lacey was black with white feet and some other white markings.
She stopped eating and really did not like me trying to get her to eat. Called the vet, but Lacey was not doing well at all, along with not eating she could not get up any longer and we made the call to euthanize. Lacey was 15 years old.
One of the sweet things we all always remember about her is how she would sit while waiting for her food or treats and just have this big happy expression on her face looking up for you and excitement waiting for it. 💜
Lacey will be missed so much as all the others I have lost this year.

I got a call from Sumter Animal Control about a pig that was abandoned in a house for at least 2 weeks. When I went to pick her up ( cold weather ) we were taken to a decent size pen and here the pig was in her water bucket
They said " oh she loves the water " I could not believe this whole thing. The pig was crippled and could not get out of the water.
Make a long story a little shorter, we got her home and settled and a vet check. Not sure if she was spayed but being in that cold water for who knows how long she had pneumonia which she was given antibiotics for. Vet concluded that she was probably crippled from birth, but when she wants to go somewhere she can do it!
So, her name became Giani, but we called her Jelly Bean, because someone gave her a cute wooden plaque for Easter that said " You are my little jellybean "
About 2 years ago she did not want pellets at all. So trying everything, she wound up being on cooked food and much of the time I had to hand feed her. To make sure she stayed hydrated, I taught her to drink out of a sippy cup. (We will post an adorable video of this)
Then came the time she refused to eat anything.
Off to the vet. Blood tests came back with unexpected awful results. At 17 years old my baby was in renal failure and very anemic. Our decision was to let her go.
This was very hard because she was like my baby. She is missed more than anything 🐷

Gabriel was an overweight fuzzy pig that showed up one day in January of 2020.
Turns out he was a boar who I think was treated badly because every time you would go near him he would just scream this high pitched scream.
We had him neutered and as time went on, I thought he would settle down, but he never really did. Though he and Nicki ended up becoming quite good friends! They would be seen gripping at each other trying to snuggle up in the stall, both were a bit grouchy, but they loved each other after all.
Gabriel had to have the vet work on him for and abscess and he was very hard to work on. He never did, in all the years he was here, did he like anyone near him, even when he showed signs of not doing good. Though he would take treats very well from you, but did not like to be pet.
The vet came to see him again and it turns out he had a clotting problem that could not be fixed.
It is so quiet now without Gabriel screaming, but we will miss him very much. Gabriel was 15.

Nicki was a sweet gentle girl who was bought as a baby and a breeder told them she would not get over 40 pounds.
Initially, she lived indoors, they pampered her, put tutus and nail polish on her. But when she reached that 40 pounds, the put her outside with no shelter, and fed scraps...She ended up gaining so much weight and being a white pig, got so sunburned!
Some very good friends found out about her and I was asked to take her in. She needed to lose the extra weight in order to able to be spayed, and after several months with me, Nicki lost enough weight to be able to be spayed. She was loved here and spent the rest of her days with her friends Gabriel and Lacey.
Nicki stopped eating and I made the call to the vet to come out, but Nicki died in her sleep the night before the vet could see her. Nicki was 13 years old.

We got allot done today! We finally had time to spread a bunch of mulch & the piggies are loving to get to snurdle in it...

Anton is turning out to be such a sweet boy along with his daughter Annika! He is starting to love his belly rubs :-) he and Annika both sit for their treats and Anton has started waving his hoof for a tree also! They are both up for adoption and would thrive in a one-on-one home with lots of attention :-) Anton is a 4 year old nuetered male, & Anika is a3 year old spayed female. We are saddened by the loss of one of our sweet piggies here at the sanctuary, Anna Karenina, who was only 10.
Anna was just a young pig approx. 3 months old when I came home from the grocery store one Monday and there was a large Tupperware container in my driveway with this beautiful little pig in it!
It was an extremely hot day and so glad she was alright.
So, next she got a name. Anna (ah nah ). Then we got her spayed.
She grew up with Caleb who was about the same age as her.
They were spoiled indoor/ outdoor pigs.
Anna developed painful arthritis and no matter what I gave her, it never really helped enough.
Then she developed a troubling breathing problem. Not much was helping, so I took her to the vet and she had an exam and they started x-rays.
The results were not good. She had a very enlarged heart and the heart and all the fluid were pressing on everthing else including her trachea.
It was decided that there was no quaulity of life remaining.
We let her go peacefully.
She is missed so much and Caleb really misses her too.

And just a couple days prior, we had the sudden unexpected loss of one of our cats, Gloria....she was only 11 years old, but when she and her sister, Willow, were born here to a stray cat, she always was the unhealthy one of the two.
She liked to sit by the big water bowl and drape her tail down in the water. Not sure why she did this, but then she would want to jump in your lap with a dripping wet tail, lol. She was such a loving cat & we miss her also ❤️
