Happy Saturday, Friends!! It was a big day Chez Sesame — we slept through a head butting competition between Blinky and Itty Bitty. The raccoons were beside themselves with all the action. We’re still napping but we’ll make the raccoons reenact it when we wake up ❤️🌝🌝💖 Goodnight, love you very much ❤️

Moonpie and I suggest taking a quiet moment *before* you need it to make note of your local wildlife rescue resources. If you’re in the USA, (ahnow.org) provides a directory of licensed rehabbers based on your location! Save the numbers in your phone under “seedling savers” or make a list for your fridge and you’ll be ready when your hero moment arrives! 💖❤️ xo Muffin

IT’S HAPPENING!!! Sesame’s annual Spring Ear Competition!! Leave your votes in the comments, OR join us in person NOW (11am CDT) til 2pm at The Humane Society of Louisiana, 618 Derbigny Street, Gretna, Louisiana to meet the baby goat contestants in person!!

If you come see us in person, you can get photos with the Easter Bunny AND meet Sesame’s two goat seedlings!! We’ll help you build a basket with goodies, and there’s plenty of and to enjoy!! Come have some fun with us!! All welcome!!

Be on the lookout!!! A baddypants stole our sandwich board at our Sesame the Opossum Shop (2041 Magazine St New Orleans)!! It never got us any sandwiches but we still miss it. Whoever has it should be prepared for people to ask if they can adopt real opossums. If you see it please call 1-800-BADDYPANTS! In the meantime, we’re working on another one that hopefully will inspire people to bring us sandwiches (and will have an airtag hidden inside!) 🌝💖❤️🥞🥪

Guess what? It's Scratchy Tongue Saturday!!!!

Today we learned a NEW-to-us fact from our rehabber friend Kanga Ryuk on TikTok: Baby opossums lick the bottom lip/chin of the mama opossum, leading her to produce thin saliva for them to drink! This helps her babies stay hydrated when they can't yet reliably find fresh water on their own!

And of course, the scratchy tongues are a tool mama opossum uses to clean and craft new hairdos for herself and her babies
