Our possum (no “o”!) cousin snuck off for a snooze at the family holiday party 🐥 she loves open-air naps, but we love when people zip tie two half-circle wire planters together and then cut a hole in the coconut fibers so we can sleep inside like the edible part of a coconut 🥥

“Bundle of joy!
This week’s most precious intake arrived all wrapped up like a little burrito baby! We love seeing the creative ways animals are kept warm and safe during transport. This little joey was found as the lone survivor of his litter. Luckily, he was found by this sweet woman who made sure he was comfortable and brought to us right away.
At this tiny age, this opossum is still needing to be tube fed, as they would still be in the mom’s pouch.

We happily took in this newbie and got him all set up in an incubator and he was given a first round of yummy pedialyte to make sure he’s well hydrated before going to our Elgin rehab center to join our other opossum babies his same age.”

Our friend here is a Giant Anteater with her baby! Giant anteaters have huge, fan-like tails, and a mother Giant Anteater will use her tail to provide her baby with comfort and warmth.
