PLEASE NOTE: PPR is a very small rescue (we do not have an animal shelter, but Facebook doesn't have 'dog rescue' as a category) that is well known throughout California as one of the few rescues that will take puppies under 3 months old and pregnant dogs. Please do not message us with information on dogs you want us to save. If you have seen a puppy (or puppies) under three months old, or a pregn

ant dog at a local shelter, e-mail us at [email protected]. Please do not take this personally but there is no way we can save every dog that is called to our attention. We also get about 50 pleas per day and are on almost every rescue request list in the state, so we are usually aware of dogs that are in need of rescue. Thanks for understanding.

🐾ADOPT EUGENE!🐾

Pound Puppy Rescue's mentorship program is going very well.

On the right is Mabel, PPR alumna and seasoned professional.

On the left is our foster Eugene (available for adoption!), 17 weeks old and currently majoring in Adventure with a minor in Making Friends.

Under Mabel's guidance, Eugene has learned important life skills such as:

- Come when called. There might be snacks.
- Blankets make everything better.
- Sit first, adventure second.
- The world is more fun together.

Eugene is an outgoing, confident, social guy who loves people, dogs, and whatever the day has in store. He's looking for an active family ready for a puppy who thinks every outing is the best idea he's ever heard.

The Art of the Hurkle-Durkle, by Liam.

This morning's lesson: stay in bed a little longer, stretch your toes, and contemplate breakfast.

Liam has become quite good at waiting. He's been patiently hanging out in foster care, collecting admirers everywhere he goes, while somehow still being available.

And honestly? He's a catch.

Liam is friendly, social, and easy to have around. He likes meeting new people, enjoys other dogs, and is always up for an outing. He loves a good walk, a game with his stuffies, and a nap in a sunny spot. If permitted, he is also perfectly content to become a decorative throw pillow on your bed.

He's smart, takes direction well, and is very food motivated, which makes training with him genuinely fun. He's already potty trained, neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for whatever adventures his short little legs can handle.

Like any respectable dog, he keeps a casual interest in neighborhood birds and squirrels.

We think he'd make an excellent companion, even for a first-time dog owner. He's just an all-around good little guy.

It's time for Liam to stop practicing the art of waiting and start practicing the art of belonging.

Introducing the Vintage Litter!

Seven names that sound like they belong at a bridge club. Seven puppies who are, in fact, very much in their puppy era: happy, hungry, loving, and operating on a strict schedule of eat, snuggle, wobble, nap, repeat.

The Vintage Litter is 7 mixed breed puppies, 1 boy and 6 girls, estimated DOB early May. Brown eyes, blue eyes, a few going for both. No two look quite alike. All adorable. We think they'll be about 40 lbs when full grown.

They are sweet little mystery mixes with big futures ahead. Training, potty breaks, and socialization are on the agenda. So is a lot of getting spoiled.

Teddy: 1. Ball: 0.

While the world watches the World Cup, Teddy is hosting his own tournament. He is undefeated.

Teddy is a regal shepherd mix born around early March, chocolate and caramel coat, slightly scruffy white chest, and the kind of friendly, eager-to-please personality that makes him a great fit for a first time dog owner.

When he's not practicing his heel flick, you'll find him mapping out every inch of the yard, soaking up a sunny patch, or wedged next to you on the sofa like he's always lived there. He reads the room, takes direction well, and genuinely enjoys his training sessions.

His canine mentor approves. His foster family approves. The ball had no say in the matter.

Yabba Dabba Adorable.

Meet Pebbles and Bam Bam, straight out of Bedrock and into foster care, where they've been very busy climbing on everything and everyone.

Pebbles is the rambunctious one (female, short coat). Bam Bam is the cuddler (male, longer light coat). Together they form a complete chaos system, and they're very cute about it.

Both love attention, love being held, and are surprisingly fearless for their size. They're about 8 weeks old, small-breed mixes of unknown origin, and currently very small — which makes the fearlessness even more impressive.

Potty training is a work in progress. Pebbles is ahead of the curve. Bam Bam is doing his best, and we support him in this endeavor.

They'll be looking for their forever families — separately, of course.

Hi, I'm Mickey.

I enjoy light gardening, blanket wrestling, occasional zoomies, and assessing situations from a comfortable distance before getting involved.

I believe every adventure should be followed by a snack.

And every snack should be followed by a nap.

So far, this system is working beautifully.

Mickey is about 2 months old — possibly Border Collie, Heeler, or Pointer in the mix. He's got a dash of scruff, freckled paws, and puppy eyes that are genuinely hard to resist.

Eugene, meet Teddy. Teddy, meet Eugene.

Two tongues, zero chill, one very good afternoon.

Eugene and Teddy met for a playdate yesterday and it took all of six seconds for them to decide they were friends. They have a lot in common: eyebrows, impressive tongues, and a shared appreciation for running around the yard at unnecessary speeds. They're also both around 4 months old and available for adoption (separately, of course).

Eugene (left) is a happy-go-lucky Husky mix who believes every day should include toys, adventures, and at least a few minutes of your undivided attention. He's smart, social, loves people and dogs alike, and knows how to settle in between bursts of puppy enthusiasm.

Teddy is a handsome Shepherd mix who has been settling beautifully into foster life. He loves being outdoors, enjoys meeting new people and canine friends, and is the kind of puppy who pays attention when his people are trying to teach him something. Smart, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever you're doing.

Adopt Liam!
Liam would like to clarify that both photos are professional headshots.

The first showcases his intelligence, focus, and maturity.
The second showcases his range.

Liam is one of those dogs who seems to genuinely enjoy whatever the day brings. Walk? Great. New people? Excellent. Other dogs? Fantastic. Training session? Let's do it.

He's confident without being pushy, social without being chaotic, and smart enough that he's going to be a blast for someone who enjoys teaching their dog new things.

Honestly, the biggest mystery surrounding Liam is how he's still available.

He's about 5 months old, expected to be 35–40 pounds full grown, and very ready to stop posing for adoption photos and start living his best life with a family. He's going to make somebody an exceptionally good dog.
