PLEASE NOTE: PPR is a very small rescue (we do not have an animal shelter, but Facebook doesn't have 'dog rescue' as a category) that is well known throughout California as one of the few rescues that will take puppies under 3 months old and pregnant dogs. Please do not message us with information on dogs you want us to save. If you have seen a puppy (or puppies) under three months old, or a pregn

ant dog at a local shelter, e-mail us at [email protected]. Please do not take this personally but there is no way we can save every dog that is called to our attention. We also get about 50 pleas per day and are on almost every rescue request list in the state, so we are usually aware of dogs that are in need of rescue. Thanks for understanding.

Jackie would like to clarify something.

Yes, sheā€™s a bit of a wild child.
Yes, she has several ongoing projects involving dirt, sticks and dog wrestling.

But introduce snacks and suddenly we have a seriously good student.

At 15 weeks old, Jackie is smart, very food motivated and already figuring out that good things happen when she listens and uses that busy little brain.

Her future family should probably stock treats. And maybe secure the landscaping.

Underneath all the mischief is a bright, enthusiastic puppy who is going to be an absolute blast for a family ready to keep her learning, moving and involved in the action.

Heā€™s an active, smart guy who would love a home with walks, adventures, and people who are ready to keep up with him.

Baloo has a new skill. Several, actually.

Heā€™s been working hard on his crate training: going in on cue, settling, and staying calm when more interesting things are happening nearby. His foster family is proud. We're all proud.

Bonus points for opening the crate door himself, this was not part of the curriculum but, honestly, super impressive.

At 4Ā½ months old, Baloo is an eager, clever Shepherd mix (best guess) who genuinely loves to learn. The snack-based compensation package doesnā€™t hurt, but heā€™d probably show up just to hear us say "good boy!".

Heā€™ll do best with an active family ready to keep building on his progress, and heā€™d love having another dog around to play with and learn from.

Yes, that's his full name and he is committed to it.

Bartholomew is a solidly built, fuzzy grey boy who takes life at a thoughtful pace. He likes to assess a situation before he commits and once he's in, he's all in.

He loves being held, is genuinely cheerful about most things, and has a grey fuzzy coat that is exactly as soft as it looks. He is, by all accounts, a very content little guy who seems to have already figured something out that most of us are still working on.

Born in mid-July, expected to land somewhere between 15 and 30 pounds, and very much available for snuggles.

Mom is a small floofy terrier mix (also available for adoption).

B is for Bartholomew. All of it. Every syllable.

Betty is one of the smaller puppies in the Spelling B litter, but that seems to be purely a technical detail.

She likes naps, wrestling, and charging into puppy business with complete confidence. Size has not entered into her calculations, and honestly, good for her.

She also has those giant puppy eyes on that tiny little face, which feels a bit like overkill.

Born in mid-July, Betty is looking for a family that appreciates a small dog with plenty of spirit.

Speller number 5: Belle.

Belle is the smallest puppy in the Spelling B litter, which nobody remembered to tell Belle.

She has no trouble holding her own with her siblings, loves a good toy, and is perfectly happy to be tucked under her foster momā€™s arm and carried around like the tiny VIP she clearly believes herself to be.

With people, Belle is sweet, affectionate and very content to be doted on. With the her siblings, she has opinions.

Born in mid-July, Belle is looking for a family with room for one very small dog and her very large sense of self.

Belle is a terrier mix. Her mom is Buffy, also up for adoption.

Benjamin has apparently decided the rest of the litter can handle the commotion, he's content to just watch for now.

He's one of the smaller Spelling B pups and tends to take things in before jumping in. Gentle, happy, observant and very comfortable with the idea that not every moment needs to become an event.

He also has those eyes, which seem specifically designed to make reasonable adults lose perspective.

Born in mid-July, Benjamin is looking for a family that appreciates a sweet little guy with a softer and calmer approach to puppyhood.

Speller number 3: Bonnie.

Bonnie was the first of the puppies to figure out toys, and she has taken that responsibility very seriously. She likes to carry them around, show them off, and generally keep one nearby just in case. Her tail is usually going too, because Bonnie seems to think most things are worth being excited about.

She's chocolate brown, born in mid-July, and has the kind of blue eyes that make you stop scrolling for a second.

B is for Bonnie. And apparently also for Brown coat and Blue eyes.

Speller number 2: Bobby!

If the Spelling B litter were holding tryouts, Bobby would be competing in two events: wrestling and lap sitting.

He's Bernadette's slightly smaller twin, with the same enthusiasm for running, exploring, and tackling any sibling on his radar.

Bobby is scruffy, busy and very committed to having fun right up until he decides he's done. Then he would like a lap, please.

Born in mid-July, Bobby is ready for a family that can keep up with his playful side and make room for his cuddly one.
