With new evidence that Avian Flu has shown mutations in infected humans, making it easier to infect human cells for human to human spread, please be aware that your cat may be infected and possibly spread it to you.

Since the U.S. outbreak of avian influenza A (H5N1) in dairy cattle began in March 2024, dozens of cats are known to have contracted the virus, including barn and feral cats, indoor cats, and big cats in zoos and in the wild (e.g., mountain lions, tigers, leopards, and bobcats).

So far it has mostly been cats dying from drinking raw milk from cows infected with Avian Flu. Now it is from a raw food commercial diet.
I do not recommend raw commercial diets, but if you chose to feed them please source locally from non commercial sources.

A Portland brand of cat food is being recalled in 12 states, including Washington, after a cat that ate it contracted bird flu and died.
