RIP Spyder 6/8/14 - 8/31/18. You were the model of Catahoula perfection from this breeder's perspective, and quite possibly the best hog dog to come out of our kennel in 36 years. I knew the minute you were born you were special and destined to greatness. You were dedicated to protecting the orchards, a job you performed tirelessly and relentlessly night after night in 100 + degree heat or pouring rain. Hard to believe a single, tiny fungal spore entered your body through your breath 6 months ago and ravaged your body although you fought with everything you had and we set no limits to find anything that would support your fight. We walked with you to the bridge to see you off with dignity and grace. You deserved that. Your ashes will be spread with Nova's one day over your old stomping grounds to let the invasive beasts know you two are still on guard. Rest easy Spy, you will always have my respect and own a piece of my heart.
