Sweet DIOLINDA, a pretty little Tuxedo will win over hearts with her tiny little self, asking for attention. Apparently, her previous owner was unable to take care of her and her sister, so a friend brought in the cats. Weighing just under 6 lbs, she is barely out of kittenhood, and very unsure about how she ended up in the shelter. At the moment both girls are scared and watching everything.

The report we were given is that DIOLINDA loves to be up high, loves to cuddle and sleep in the bed with her person. Her favorite thing is climbing a cat tower but will also climb up a leg if she is being ignored. She can be quite vocal. She is good with non-aggressive dogs, cats and likes children. Children should be old enough to understand about soft touch, no squeezing hugs and with any cat, rough play may end with nips or scratches.

DIOLINDA would love to be in a home with a family of her own to love her and never give her up! If the home, and hearts in that home were big enough, perhaps sister CHAI could also become a member of the family. Twice the fun, Twice the love! WIN WIN!

This is one of the saddest things for volunteers at rescues. Perfectly healthy cats being surrendered by family members who do not want or can not take in an older cat once the owner is in hospice or dies.

ALEXIS is a perfectly healthy Senior lady who has lost her life-long companion. She is now in a strange place, without knowing what has happened, or what she did to deserve losing her home and her friend.

ALEXIS was hanging back behind her bed at the far end of her kennel, but she is now in a room and is doing her best to fit in. She is friendly, loves attention. She is a bit leery of the other cats, but there are so many of them. The person who surrendered her did not know how she is with other cats, dogs, or kids. As a senior cat, she likely would do best being an only pet, though she is doing ok with the roommates. Older kids might be ok as long as they understand that she will not be a playmate. She will probably be happiest to curl up in a comfy spot for a snooze. Hopefully, she will soon find a new person to love and care for her, and she can look forward to a safe, loving forever home.

Due to owner moving in with family and unable to have PENDERWICK in new place, her guardian had to surrender her to the shelter.

PENDERWICK loves people and is affectionate. She has not had much interaction with dogs or children. She is so, so with other cats. She is a large girl, but still a young adult. She may enjoy playing but is past the age of curtain climbing and may enjoy long naps after short play time. She may do well with older children who do not expect her to be a playmate. She may enjoy being a bed partner though.

PENDERWICK deserves a second chance to find a forever home.

FROZEN was fortunate to have found someone who made sure he did not have to suffer the cold too long before he was rescued and brought to the shelter. This handsome tiger is a real Loverboy. He wants attention and is not afraid to ask for it! As a stray, we don't know FROZEN's history and have no idea what he would think of dogs, cats, or kids. He is young yet, so he probably would be fine with a non-aggressive cat or dog as long as there are slow, proper introductions. He also would love to play with kids old enough to be schooled in the art of soft pets, and no squeezing hugs. And everyone needs to remember that all kitties can become overly excited during playtime, which may result in nips or scratches.

FROZEN truly wants a home with people who will love him, care for him, and never leave him out in the cold. If you are looking for a lifelong, loving companion, come meet FROZEN. He'd love to snuggle on these cold, frozen nights!

Sweet LILLY (5) came to the shelter after she had lost her people to an auto accident. The extended family just could not deal with the care of the family cats along with the rest of the details that needed to be done.

LILLY is very loving but confused at the moment. She came with two other kitties, so we know she is ok with cats, we do not know about dogs. She is young though and would probably be ok with a non-aggressive dog and proper, slow introduction. LILY came from a home with a child, so she is ok with children old enough to understand about soft pets and no squeezing hugs.

The family sincerely hopes that LILY and her sister and brother cats will find homes quickly and forever. LILY and the others were obviously loved and cared for. They deserve a second chance to have that again.

LENNY, a sweet, gentle soul. While in the intake kennel, he liked having his "hand" held and loved to give kisses. But now he is in a room with other cats, and he is understandably confused. LENNY has chosen to stay up on a top shelf and be as inconspicuous as possible. LENNY is willing to share his up high perch with the other cats, but he does not interact with them if he can avoid it. We don't know how he feels about dogs, or children but given his nervous nature, he probably would do best in an older household with no other pets.
LENNY is a sweet young guy who was a stray long enough to become infected with FIV, which is a respiratory immune deficiency. He is healthy and with love and care, he should have the normal cat's life span of 15 years or more. He cannot give FIV to any other animals or people. He would not pass it to a cat whom he plays and rough houses with. He would only be able to pass it on to another cat if they were a deep bite wound. Please read the information available on FIV!

LENNY has such a loving, shy nature and will need a special family who will give him time to trust he is safe and loved. The FIV room is full of loving kitties who are constantly being overlooked, even though they are the sweetest cats. It's as though they know they have to try harder to convince someone to take them home. Please don't overlook LENNY.

FREDERICK is just about the chill-est dude in the shelter! Just over the designated kitten age(which is 6 months), FREDRICK is just so happy to lay in someone's arms and just snuggle up. He looks up into your eyes and the melting begins. What a little player😁! Earlier this week, this little dude was passed from volunteer to volunteer until he had been in the arms of everyone working. Not once did he squirm or ask to get down. He just snuggled up and purred. How his former home could just forget to take him when they moved is beyond comprehension, but FREDERICK is just too sweet and lovable to stay in the shelter long.

How FREDERICK feels about dogs or kids is unknown, but this guy probably won't have a problem with other non-aggressive pets. He should also do great with kids old enough to have been taught about soft pets and touch and no squeezing hugs for kitties. Everyone should also be aware that when playtime goes too long or to rough, any cat will become over stimulated and will scratch or nip.

Young, sweet FREDERICK will be a wonderful addition to any home, but what he needs is a stable, loving home that he can grow up in, with a family he can grow old with. Maybe you are his forever family.
