🩵💙🩵BLACKHEART🩵💙🩵

BLACKHEART is a gorgeous guy with a white coat and the most beautiful eyes! He had a home with several other kitties, but his owner had died and there was no one to take in BLACKHEART. He had been very confused by all of the sudden changes but had become interested in the goings on of the shelter. He quickly became a favorite of the volunteers. BLACKHEART loved to be petted and was not totally opposed to being held and lightly snuggled. He also liked belly rubs and snuggling on laps. Not surprisingly, BLACKHEART was soon adopted by a family with a young child.

Unfortunately, BLACKHEART's first owner would share people food with him, and he decided he likes that much better than cat food! He started stealing the young child's food. They would shut him in the basement, but he objected and did some damage trying to get out. So, he was brought back to the shelter.

We do not know how he would be with dogs, but he would be fine with cats who are not aggressive. He might be best with someone who wouldn't mind sharing yummy people food. He might also be fine with older children who understood about soft touch, no squeezing hugs and who may be able to slip a treat under the table when Mom isn't looking. 😸

💚🐈💚Cat of the Day💚🐈💚
🐈💚🐈GETTY🐈💚🐈

GETTY had been living as a stray in a neighborhood for at least six months. Neighbors had been providing him with food, water and shelter but wanted him to become part of someone's home so he was brought to F2F. He is very friendly but is a bit of an escape artist, so his guardian will need to make sure that all doors, windows and screens are secure.

GETTY LOVES ATTENTION!! He wants to be wherever you are. He may occasionally gives gentle love bites - they are not hard bites. He will let you hold him for a short time. He does not like back, side or tummy pets. He likes chin, cheek and head scratches.

This boy has apparently been on his own a while and is not sure about this inside stuff, but he is young enough that he will quickly adapt, especially if he has lots of room to run and climb in his new house! He doesn't mind being picked up and is affectionate. He is fine with other cats and is young enough to adapt to a non-aggressive dog. He would love to have someone play chase the string with him, but kids need to be old enough to understand about soft touch and no squeezing hugs for kitties. They need to understand that young cats can be over-stimulated during extended playtime and occasional bites and scratches can occur. The kids also need to be old enough to not let GETTY outside!!!

GETTY is looking for a family to grow up and grow old with! Maybe your family?

If you would like to adopt GETTY please come to the shelter during Adoption Hours Monday and Wednesday from 4-7 and Saturday from 10-1.
Remember to bring a carrier.

🐱♥️🐱TINY TINA🐱♥️🐱

TINY TINA was a stray who was very sick when she was rescued. She was treated for a UTI and a runny eye. For a few days, she was a bit listless, but she still had a purr when anyone came by and has quickly become a staff favorite. She is all better now and is ready to start a new chapter!

TINY TINA's rescuer says she got along with chickens, dogs, cats. She will probably be fine with non-aggressive animals and with kids who understand gentle pets and no tight hugs. This tiny Tortie is just as sweet as can be. She is, however FIV+, which is an immune deficiency. Now that she is no longer a stray, battling the weather and the predators, TINY TINA should enjoy the same life expectancy of any indoor house cat. FIV is not contagious to other animals, or humans. It can only be passed when attacked during a violent fight with an FIV cat. Normal cats playing will not pass it on. Please read the information available.

TINY TINA is little for her age, but she has faced a lot and has fought her way through the adversities. And yet, she has never feared people. TINY TINA loves attention, wants to snuggle, and her purr shows her heart and her faith in the kindness of people is still strong. Gentle belly rubs are accepted!! This mighty mite deserves to have a home of her own, with a family who will love her forever!!

🐈♥️🐈ACORN🐈♥️🐈

ACORN was abandoned at the door of the shelter in 2021 and was adopted a few months later. She had almost four years with her adopted mom, but sadly her mom has had to enter a nursing home and ACORN finds herself back with us.

ACORN was Miss Sociable and a sweetheart who would greet you when you walked in the room. At the moment, she is still trying to figure out what has happened to her, and why it keeps happening. ACORN can be very vocal and likes to hold a conversation. You can pet her on her face and head, but she backs up when you get too touchy. She likes to play and is curious about what you are doing.

As a senior, she will probably be best in an older, quiet home. Given what she has been though, ACORN seems to be regaining her confidence but needs a gentle touch. She needs someone willing to give her that time and love. And please let her next home really be her forever home!!

Check out her video on YouTube!!

🌼🐱🌼Cat of the Day🌼🐱🌼
🐱🌼🐱BUTTERCUP🐱🌼🐱

BUTTERCUP a pretty little buff colored stray who was rescued and brought to the shelter. With no information about her, we do not know if BUTTERCUP is ok with dogs or kids. She seems to be doing ok with the other shelter cats but does not interact with them, if she can avoid them. She can be a bit of a snip if one of them encroaches on her getting attention. To visitors, she is extremely friendly, very vocal and wants lots of attention, but does not like being picked up.

BUTTERCUP is young enough that, with the proper, slow introduction, she would probably do ok with other non-aggressive pets. She is a diva though and may be best as the only pet. As she is young, she would probably enjoy playing with kids old enough to understand that some kitties do not wish to be picked up or squeezed. They also need to know about soft touch and that if they play rough with a cat, scratches and bites will happen.

If you don't pay attention, BUTTERCUP will reach out and try to entice you to pet her. She is not shy about what she wants, which is really just someone to love her as the diva she strives to be and to give her a safe, loving forever home.
