Reunited!
Nothing is better than the happy tears that flow when your beloved pet is back in your arms!
Each year over 1500 dogs enter Pound Buddies!
Accidents happen, we understand and we are happy to keep your pets safe until they can be reunited. 🥰
As we enter the warmer months, more animals enter the shelter because, well...they're outside more just like we are. 😀
To reduce the chance of your pet(s) getting out or lost, check out these simple tips:
1. Check your fencing and repair escape routes (over, under and through the fence)
2. Charge perimeter collars and ensure a safe and proper fit.
3. Avoid leaving your pet(s) outside unattended, especially for extended periods of time.
4. Spend time with your pets! Take a walk, work on training and enrichment to keep them stimulated and connected with you.
5. Get your pet fixed to reduce the desire to escape and find a date!😲
BUT MOST IMPORTANT AND BY FAR THE MOST SIMPLE safety tip......
PUT IDENTIFICATION IN YOUR PET!
A collar with your contact info is the fastest and easiest way to be reunited with a lost pet....and they won't have to come to the shelter!
We would much rather return your dog to your doorstep than have to bring them to the shelter....but we need to know where they live😀
If collars don't work for whatever reason....microchip your pets! (But please make sure your information is registered and kept up to date)
So as much as we LOVE to see pets go back to their family, we would love to see fewer come in! Lol.
The simple tasks of identification and taking an active role in ensuring their containment goes a long way! (An ounce of prevention....you know the saying) 🙂
