There’s something about a name…
I don’t name tiny, at risk babies at first. Naming them connects me in a different way… Making it even harder to say goodbye when I lose them. But once I see hope & daily progress, it’s time for a name.
My names are usually very silly and decided upon in about three seconds… Because 99% of my adopters change the name anyway. But this one was special… This little girl is a fighter. The only survivor of six…
Meet Giddy. Short for Gideon—translated from Hebrew, meaning “mighty warrior.”
She’s a true warrior—refusing to give up. 🩷
Giddy most likely has cerebellar hypoplasia… Which is causing her shaking. One of our own cats has this, so we are pretty familiar.
GIDDY UP, Giddy!! (see what I did there? 😆) We’ve got this! ♥️

This update from George made me cry happy tears! 🩵 His new mama was trying hard to get some work done this afternoon… But he thought it was more important for her arm to be used as a pillow. ♥️

Sooo thankful that this week ended in such a positive way, with George’s adoption…because this has been one of the hardest weeks, emotionally, that we’ve had in a long time.
Last Sunday, on Mothers Day, we took in six kittens.
And now—there are two.
Four deaths in four days.
Our vet thinks their Mamma ingested something during pregnancy that delayed their development and has caused them to become extremely dehydrated very easily. Their little bodies struggle to absorb fluids and nutrition. The four that we’ve lost most likely had undeveloped organs. 😞
So…it’s been tough. Lots of tears. Very little sleep. But I can now give subcutaneous fluids like a rockstar.

Come on, babies—we can do this.

Sharing sweet Pepper again—because she will be ready for adoption next week!!

Pepper was found abandoned at a local Quiktrip. Her siblings were with her, but they had all passed away. Pepper was terrified and crying and so confused. She has been thriving with us and is doing great! She is so healthy and happy! She is about nine weeks old, will be spayed next week… And available for adoption beginning May 20! Just look at that little patch of white on her chest and that precious face! How could you resist? It would be best if Pepper could be adopted into a home with another cat that would enjoy a playmate. 💕

When I get to heaven, I know God is going to look at me and say, “you know- your prayer life tripled once you started rescuing animals.” 😊
And oh, how wonderful it is when one of those prayers is answered in the most amazing way. ♥️

Yesterday, someone reached out to me about meeting George. She wanted to come meet him this morning. I knew her name looked familiar, but there was not a picture of her on her page.

She stepped out of her car in my driveway this morning… And I couldn’t believe my eyes. There stood Lisa— a dear woman I have known for over 20 years. I met her through my mother when they worked together in accounting… so long ago!
We had not seen each other in forever… But she looked exactly the same. So beautiful… And I just couldn’t believe that she might potentially become George’s new Mom.

We walked back to the foster suite, and Lisa sat down on the floor. After only a few minutes, George was lying in her lap, nuzzling his head against her, and wagging that tail!
GEORGE HAS FOUND HIS HUMAN! ♥️
He got his stitches out shortly after meeting his new mom, and he will be with me a few more days… Then he will go to his new forever home. The home that I prayed for. The home where he will be spoiled and live his days in love and comfort.
God is good. 💙

GEORGE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!! 🎉🩵

Let’s talk about George. This precious boy… Came to me only three weeks after his human passed away. He was still grieving… So confused, and within a couple of weeks, we realized he was also in pain due to severe glaucoma, and the fact that the lens of his eye was pushed severely to one side.

During those first six weeks, I never heard George purr. I saw the tip of his tail wag two different times… And looking back on it, I think that was more of a nervous reaction rather than contentment.
He would yowl and get very upset around our other fosters—which caused stress for everyone.

Today, George is a different cat in almost every way. He wants you to pet him constantly… He purrs as you are doing it, his tail wags—a happy wag of contentment, and he is rocking his new look. ❤️

There’s only one thing that has remained the same… And that is the fact that George simply does not like to be around other cats. George was an only cat in his previous home before his owner died… And that is the way he wants to continue living his life.

This is a tough one for me on different levels… Because honestly, I would keep George in a heartbeat if I could. The bond that we have created between us is strong… and telling George goodbye when he is adopted into a new home will be one of the hardest goodbyes I’ve ever had to say. But I have to do what is best for him… I have to find him a home where he can be the only cat, to live out his years as the most handsome pirate cat ever.

For George’s happiness… This needs to happen sooner rather than later. I’m always going to have other fosters around… And I don’t want anything stressing George out.
So—I NEED YOUR HELP. All of you… Anyone reading this… PLEASE SHARE so we can find the perfect, most amazing situation for George.

He is about seven years old… And now that the old painful eye is removed, he is in great health! All of his blood work came back looking great!
He is laid-back, snuggly, pretty lazy…
(and chonky! —17 pounds 😬)
😊And just wants his very own human to love & get alllll the pets from.

I hope that you will all join in our hunt for the perfect family for George… By sharing, lifting up prayer and positive thoughts, and please let me know if you have any questions! ♥️
