Around the time I started college, Mom and I adopted a Boston terrier puppy… She was sassy, joyful, and owned the room when she ran in —tumbling and jumping  and making everyone happy. We named her Dolly… After one of our favorite humans. Today has just been a sad day! Rest in peace, beautiful Dolly. 🩷

Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80. Dolly was one of the most influential performers in American history. She will always be remembered for her music, her sense of humor and philanthropy. ❤️🙏 We will always love you.

Oh, Sweet Sophie. 🩷
Not one person has shown any interest in you. Not one. Those three letters—FIV—apparently run everyone away.

Having Sophie with us has given me reason to really educate myself on FIV… And the more I read, the more I realize that it’s just not that big of a deal. Sophie can live happily and comfortably with other cats who do not have FIV.
She is literally getting sweeter every day…she just wants to be loved. 🩷
Sophie is about a year and a half old, fully vaccinated and spayed… Just waiting for someone to make her part of their family… Love her and give her a home.

Meet Mama Charity & her three kiddos—Billy (orange boy), Jameson (tabby boy) and Jade (tortie girl)! 💙💙🩷
I am fostering these cutie pies for the Hall County Animal Shelter… Mama and babies are all doing great… Will be spayed/neutered in a couple of weeks and ready to go to their forever homes! So it’s time for you to go ahead and fall in love with them now… ❤️ And get excited about taking them home soon!!

My Mamma’s always told me I am too forthright…and I often wish I had never even mentioned that these babies were born to a mamma cat with FIV. BECAUSE—the chances of them having it is 0 to 5%. But that 5% was enough for me to be open & honest about it….because that’s just who I am. And I will never hide anything from potential adopters.

I just HATE that they are at the absolute cutest and sweetest age right now… At four months old, and potential adopters are missing out—because they aren’t informed about FIV. Even if one of them DOES fit into that 5% chance—and actually tests positive—FIV is NOT a reason to overlook a cat.

They can be tested at six months old… And will no doubt be negative…
And the harsh reality is… At six months old, they will be considered “less adoptable“ because they will no longer be tiny kittens. 

If anyone reading this is even considering adopting a kitten… Please take 10 minutes to do your own research. Just google it… You’ll see that it’s simply not anything scary.
Don’t confuse it with other “scarier” issues…
These babies deserve a home just like any other kittens do. ❤️

And when they test negative in a couple months—I get to say “I told you so!” Okay?? 😜

On tonight’s episode of “Spy on Toby”…. our cat Pickles is having a sleepover with Toby and Shy Bobby tonight. While Bobby was eating some dinner… Toby and Pickles were hanging out in the window… And I noticed their tails. Look at how sweet Toby has his tail wrapped around Pickles’ tail… And at the end of the video, Toby lays down next to Pickles. It just shows me that he loves other cats… He loves his little friendships. 💙
But he’s just too overwhelmed with the number of crazy kittens that I have running around right now… So he only comes out to explore at night when I close the door in between the two foster areas… And give him and Toby (and occasionally Pickles) a room all to themselves.

My heart aches over the fact that no one has shown any interest in adopting this sweet boy. My hope is for him to be adopted along with Shy Bobby… because they are already friends, and it would just be so wonderful for them to stay together. However… There might be someone out there that already has a cat that needs a companion… a cat that’s gentle and loving, who would be a wonderful friend for Toby. But something has to work… Someone has to come forward for this sweet boy.

How much longer will he be hiding all day in a corner… Sleeping the day away, only coming out at night to play when he doesn’t feel overwhelmed and scared? 😞

I’ll keep posting… Y’all keep sharing… Together we can find the perfect person/family for this boy. 💙

These five cutie pies had a GREAT checkup yesterday! Doc says they’re all super healthy… and she got to witness their amazing acrobatic acts as we let them all run around the exam room for a bit. 😁

They are four months now…  spayed/neutered, vaccinated… Full of energy and cuteness… and wondering when their forever families are going to come for them!
