Meet Stacy! One of the Amazing Humans Behind the Scenes at Reach Rescue!

Stacy began volunteering after the loss of her beloved Pekingese, Bentley, combining her love of shopping with giving back. She works at Nordstrom Rack and helps at the Reach Resale store whenever she can—whether finding great items, working the register, or gathering donations for events.

She especially loves Saturdays at the store, seeing dogs waiting for their forever homes, and witnessing the community come together to support rescue. Family means everything to Stacy, and she hopes to foster a dog someday too!

We’re so grateful for Stacy’s heart and dedication, thank you! ♥️🐾

Meet Apple Blossom 🌸

Apple Blossom is a delicate and sweet 9-month-old female Labradoodle who came to us after being left behind by a breeding operation, so everything from a friendly "hello" to a new toy is a brand new experience for her. While she was very shy when she first arrived, she is proving just how resilient she is by using her love for treats to help her socialize and grow more confident every day!🐕

She has already made incredible progress in her foster home, where she is discovering the simple joys of exploring the backyard, chewing on toys, and even leaning in for a chin scratch. 💛Apple Blossom is a total sweetheart who simply needs a patient family to continue her journey. To help her feel secure, she requires a home with another dog to model positive behaviors and a fenced-in yard where she can play and explore safely 🐾. 🌸.

We were spending our day preparing for more pups coming into our program this weekend when we recieved a call about two severely neglected dogs. They had just been caught by animal control and needed immediate rescue.

We said yes, jumped into action and prepared for their arrival. One of our amazing groomers was able to get the male (who was in worse condition) in right away but only had time to groom one this evening. We didn’t want the female to spend one more night suffering from her matted prison so we got out our clippers and little by little worked through the horror that encased her body.

After all of the neglect and abuse that they have endured, this duo could not have been sweeter with us. We look forward to getting to learn more about them.

We have made them each a very important promise that from here on out there are only better days ahead. ❤️‍🩹

Edited to add that the little dog seen at the end of the video is Walnut (AKA Wally) who is currently being fostered by the same family ❤️

Just six weeks ago, we made a trip to a local animal control to pick up some dogs in need of rescue. On our way there, one of the AC officers contacted us to let us know that they had just confiscated two koi fish from a neglect situation who would also be in need of rescue.

As it turns out, one of our foster families has an indoor atrium with a koi pond. We reached out to see if they would consider taking them in, and without hesitation they were happy to help!

We would like you all to meet Scuttle and Figment. 🐟 We think they are quite happy with their new digs and things are going swimmingly for them.

Even the littlest lives matter. 🧡

🐶 PUPPY SNEAK PEEK 🐶

What started as heartbreaking news has turned into a story of hope and tiny wagging tails. 💛

Just before the end of December, 15 puppies were found dumped overnight in a remote rural area six hours south—no shelters, no animal control, freezing temps on the way, and almost no rescue options.
But thanks to some true real-life heroes, help showed up just in time. 😇

Two of those lucky pups made their way to Reach Rescue, and we’re SO excited to introduce… 🥁

Say hello to Pup Pup, a charming 2-year and 1-month-old male Miniature Schnauzer! This small guy is the proud papa who arrived at the rescue alongside his adorable litter of Yorkie-Schnauzer puppies: Boba, Oreo, Bubbles, and Mocha. While the babies are busy being cute, Pup Pup is showing everyone exactly where they got their sweet nature and good looks 🐶.
