Meet Mazie! 🌸

This adorable 3-year-old Pomeranian came to us through emergency on her due date! Mazie was in labor but, after two hours, had not delivered any puppies. She was then transferred to our surgery department, where our team proceeded with a C-section.

We are so happy to share that Mazie welcomed three beautiful little puppies! 🐶💗

Mazie recovered so well after surgery and was able to spend time with her brand-new babies. Mom and her three little pups are doing great!

Congratulations, Mazie!🐾

Meet Vixen! 🐾

This sweet 2-year-old Italian Greyhound first visited our Surgery Service on July 6th after injuring her leg while playing in the backyard. After an examination and X-rays, it was discovered that Vixen had fractured both her right radius and ulna.

That same day, Dr. Averill performed surgery to repair her fractures, and Vixen was able to head home to recover with her mom.

Pictured below is Vixen with her mom and Surgery Technician Heather during her recheck appointment. During her visit, we changed her bandage and made sure everything is healing just as it should. We're happy to report that Vixen is making great progress! 💙

In honor of National Cat Day, we'd like to introduce Amethyst! 💜✨

This adorable 2-month-old kitten came to our Emergency Service on Sunday morning after developing a fever and losing her appetite.

Amethyst stayed with us overnight, where she received supportive care and plenty of love from our team. By Monday morning, she was back to her feisty kitten self—bright, playful, and eating well again! We absolutely loved caring for this sweet little girl.

Drop a picture of your cat in the comments below and help us celebrate National Cat Day!🎉

Penny, a 3 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, came to our Emergency Department after swallowing a LEGO piece! 😳

Because foreign objects can lead to serious complications if they become lodged in the stomach or intestines, our doctor recommended inducing vomiting before the LEGO could cause a blockage. Thankfully, Penny successfully brought the LEGO back up and was able to head home the very same day! 🎉

If you think your pet has swallowed something they shouldn't, don't wait. Contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital right away, as early intervention can often prevent more serious complications.

Nala, a sweet 2-month-old Dachshund, presented to our Emergency Department after developing an allergic reaction shortly after receiving a vaccination.

Our team quickly administered medications to help reduce her facial swelling and get her feeling more comfortable. Before heading home, Nala's family was instructed to continue giving Benadryl as directed, and our doctor recommended that she be pre-medicated before any future vaccinations to help prevent another reaction. Thankfully, Nala responded well to treatment and was able to head home.🩷

We love caring for all of our patients, but we have to admit... getting some puppy snuggles always makes our day a little brighter!✨

Could your pet be dehydrated?

As temperatures rise, it's important to keep an eye out for signs that your pet may not be getting enough fluids. Dehydration can develop quickly, especially during hot weather, exercise, or illness.

We've highlighted some common warning signs in the graphics below. Knowing what to watch for can help you recognize a problem early and seek care if needed.

If you're concerned that your pet may be dehydrated, contact your veterinarian or emergency veterinary hospital for guidance.

Cats are experts at hiding when something is wrong.

Because many feline emergencies can be subtle at first, it's important to recognize the signs that may indicate your cat needs immediate veterinary attention.

If your cat is showing concerning signs or you're unsure whether it's an emergency, it's always best to contact a veterinarian for guidance.

A little reminder of why we do what we do every day… 🐾❤️

Our 5-Star Review Board is one of our favorite spots in the hospital! It’s filled with kind words from pet parents, heartfelt thank-you cards, and adorable photos of the pets who have touched our hearts along the way.

Every review, note, and picture represents a family who trusted us with their beloved companion during some of their most important moments. Whether it’s helping a pet through an emergency, supporting a family during a difficult decision, or celebrating a happy recovery, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey.

Thank you to all of the amazing pet parents who take the time to share their experiences with us. Your kind words mean more than you know and serve as a daily reminder of the impact our team makes. 💙🐶🐱

We are so lucky to care for such incredible pets and their families!
