🌿 Wildlife spotted at the Hospital! 🦌🪵🦊
We had a surprise visitor in our parking lot recently—a beautiful deer wandered through, and we’ve also spotted a coyote family nearby. While it’s always special to see wildlife up close, it’s also a good reminder that nature is right at our doorstep—even in town!
👉 What this means for your pets:
🦟 Ticks are hitchhiking in. Deer and coyotes often carry ticks, which can drop off into grassy areas and parking lots—yes, even the ones we walk through every day. Some of these ticks can carry Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and other harmful illnesses that can affect both dogs and people.
What you can do:
• Keep your pets on year-round flea & tick prevention—even indoor pets can be exposed on a quick potty break.
• Check your pet for ticks after walks, hikes, or even a visit to our hospital.
• Avoid letting pets roam near wooded or brushy areas, especially during dawn or dusk when wildlife is most active.
• Be aware of coyote activity—keep pets leashed and don’t leave food outside.
If you have any questions about tick prevention or want to double-check your pet’s coverage, give us a call—we’re happy to help!
