Dear friends, this adorable dog is hoping to find a forever home, someone to adopt him, or perhaps a loving foster family for a while.
He’s nine years old and came with another dog, but she found her forever home, and he’s still with us!

His name is Chubby 🥰😉

He’s housebroken, friendly, incredibly affectionate, and great with other dogs.
Please give Chubby some love; he’s really missing his family!
He will never understand why he was left behind!

New York is advancing landmark legislation that would ban octopus factory farming in the state — a significant moment in the push to extend meaningful welfare protections to marine invertebrates.

Octopuses are among the most intelligent animals on the planet — capable of solving complex puzzles, using tools, and demonstrating individual personalities — yet they have historically been excluded from virtually every animal protection framework.

Factory farming these animals at scale would subject creatures with highly developed nervous systems to conditions that would be considered unconscionable for virtually any other sentient being we acknowledge.

The fact that New York is moving on this while the federal government is simultaneously trying to gut pig welfare protections under the Save Our Bacon Act tells you everything about where the real momentum for animals lives right now.

This is what progress looks like — one species at a time, one state at a time, until the walls of the industry start coming down.
