This is Ginger, formerly Marjoram from Arya's Herb Garden Litter. She is going to be sad when her buddy (her forever human's father's dog) has to go back to Florida.

Here are Kayleigh's pups at 6 weeks of age. They are the cutest little things! These pups will only be about 20-25 pounds as adults. They are some of the smallest doods here at Catskill Country. They may be small in stature, but boy-oh-boy, are they big in personality. These girls (and boy) are super happy and friendly. You just look at them, and tails wag! They will be ready to go to their forever homes at the end of August. In order of appearance, here are Hey Jude, My Sharona, Oh Sherry, Maggie May, Billy Jean, Sweet Caroline and Good Golly Miss Molly.

A forever family shared this picture on yesterday's post. I wanted to make sure everyone got to see it. It's just so adorable! You might think that this is Max from yesterday's post, but it's Uno (formerly Shamrock from Phannie's "Luck of the Irish" Litter). Of course, Max is the dad! The resemblance is uncanny! Uno was on an extended stay with us for several weeks. I grew pretty attached to him. I remember this little girl asking her mom, "Why is she crying (meaning me!!) when they came to pick him up. That's right; I still sometimes cry when my puppies leave! Puppy Love!

Here are Thurman Munson and Max, two of our "mini" studs. I am always so leary about using the word "mini". It conjures up images of a tiny 5 pound foo-foo dog who yaps and is high energy. Our minis are about 25 pounds and about 15 inches tall at the shoulder. They have the same pleasant demeanor and friendly, calm temperament as their larger counterparts. They can still hike and swim and play fetch for as long as you'll throw the ball; they are simply in a smaller (but not tiny) package. For those families who want the human-loving, cuddle-on-the-couch dood who still is active and playful . . .but have a smaller space. . . .our minis will work for you! Thurman and Max live together and are living their best life in a fantastic guardian home. They are best friends. Their guardians simply adore them. These guys have the coats, the health, the conformation, and especially the personality we want in our breeding program.

Here are the girls from Kayleigh's "Song Title" Litter. From left to right: Sweet Caroline, Oh Sherry, Billy Jean, My Sharona, Maggie May and Miss Molly. The only boy in the litter, Hey Jude, is playing with my toes and isn't in the picture! These pups will grow up to be about 20-25 pounds and will be ready for their forever homes at the end of this month. Lots of puppy love!

Just a grown man and his grown dog. The love just never ends! I plucked this picture off of a friend's page. She is wishing her son a Happy Birthday and this is one of the pictures she chose to post. I just love it! This is Meadow, formerly Harvest Moon from Cassie's Fall Cornucopia litter. Meadow will be 2 years old next month. Happy Birthday to her forever human!

Sometimes there are puppies in a litter that look so similar they could be twins. This is Becks and Genny from Bailey-Midge's "Summer Brews" Litter. The fastest way for me to tell them apart is that Genny has two eye patches and Becks has just one. They are adorable together. These girls will be 8 weeks old on Monday. We expect them to be about 25 pounds as adults. Puppy Love!! Photo Credit - Teresa McMillan (Bailey-Midge's Mom who visits the puppies as much as she can!) :)

Maybe it’s time to get that second dog!! After reading this article, John said our dogs should be happy and live forever!! 🤣

According to a massive new study from Arizona State University, dogs that live with other animals live healthier, longer lives. And we’re not just talking about other dogs. Cats, chickens, goats, even the occasional ferret counts.

Dr. Noah Snyder-Mackler and his team analysed data from over 21,000 dog owners through the Dog Aging Project, and what they found is kind of wild. Social support was the biggest predictor of a dog’s health. Not the owner’s income. Not how big the house is. Not even how often the dog gets walked.

In fact, the impact of having animal companions was five times stronger than financial status. That’s right. A broke dog with a bestie is likely to be healthier than a lonely rich one.

These dogs showed lower disease risks, better physical mobility, and overall longer lives. It’s like nature's saying: “Hey, friendships matter more than fancy food bowls.”

And it makes sense. Just like humans, dogs are social creatures. They need company. They need interaction. They need to feel like part of a pack. Even if that pack includes a sassy cat who refuses to share the couch.

This doesn’t mean you need to go out and adopt a mini zoo. But if your pup seems lonely, maybe a companion could do more for their well-being than any supplement or vet bill ever could.

So yes, your dog wants cuddles and walks… but also, maybe a roommate.

The real secret to a long dog life? Friendship. Because even dogs know life’s better when you don’t do it alone.

Check out this cute little guy! It's Indiana Paws 🤣 . . .Indy for short. Indy was formerly Tarragon from Arya's Herb Garden Litter. We received a wonderful text from his forever humans along with this picture, "We've had a great week with Indy and already feel like he's a lifelong family member! It's been a busy and exciting week meeting lots of people, going on hikes, and a good trip to the vet. Indy is just the best! We feel so fortunate." My heart is happy!! I love getting these texts. 🐶❤️

This is Gus, formerly Chestnut from Bella's Tree House Litter. Yesterday was Gus's Gotcha Day, and I received the most wonderful text, "One year ago we brought home the baby. He is a great boy and we love him very much." Thank you to Gus's forever humans for keeping in touch and sending pictures. We just love seeing our pups all grown up and happy (and Gus sure looks like he's happy, doesn't he?!!)

Happy Saturday everyone! This is Genny from Bailey's Summer Brew Litter. Funny quirk about her name. She is obviously named after the beer and her name is spelled accordingly. However, we have another litter here named after song titles so every morning I sing to her, "Jenny, I've got your number. I want to make you mine. Jenny, don't change your number 867-5309 Now you will be singing that all day. You're welcome and Happy Weekend! 🤣
