Training session with MayMay!

Student Honey is out training dog for this one today.

She’s Newfoundland puppy she will be a big girl and her owners have grandkids close to the age of Maymay today was really working on her not jumping and chasing Maymay.

Just being respectful and having impulse control around young kids is a big thing for all puppies and dogs to learn.

RESEARCH! RESEARCH! RESEARCH! Know the breed you're taking into your home. Know what they were bred for. Know they have genetics and traits that were bred for hundreds of years to do the things that you probably hate now or annoy you. Your border collie is going to herd, your beagle is going to bay.

A lot of people get dogs now for aesthetically pleasing reasons. We don't give dogs jobs anymore.
We want them to be this feature of our homes but forget they have their own needs, wants and desires.

This is Crockett a South African Boerboel. He's 150lbs and 15 months old. He's learned he can use aggression to get out of situations he doesn't want to be in. He's not lab and he's not a German Shepherd.
He is naturally aloof of people he doesn't know. He's gonna be here for the next 6 weeks in our Ranch Reset. We have some work to do!
