Like most shelters, we are overflowing with kittens! Hungry kittens! We currently have approximately 25 kittens in our care (shelter/foster). We have asked before, but have to ask again, we desperately need canned kitten food. Fancy Feast kitten or Sheba kitten food both available at local stores, Walmart, or Amazon. We have volunteers at our shelter twice a day (at least) so items could be left at front door or shipped through Amazon or Chewy wish list. We appreciate all the continued support to help these kittens and please spay/neuter.

We have 4 new puppies! Ellie and Enzo will be smaller dogs. Mom was a mix breed about 20 pounds. W***y and Renny appear to be hound/lab mix puppies. All are about 3 months old and very sweet pups! Apply at Littleorphans.org

We told you about a "hero" that came to adopt a bonded trio last weekend. An update: everyone is doing well! Now it's time to find a hero for some cats still at our shelter.
Starting with our LONGEST RESIDENT, our sweet Dakota.
She arrived when she was just a kitten (and is now almost eight).The only explanation we can come up with is, even though she is incredibly sweet, kind, and loving she is a shy, black cat, that is really good at becoming invisible when new people visit. She is truly a hidden treasure! Dakota is beautiful and extremely kind to all the other kitties. She seems to provide a calming presence for both volunteers and other kitties. She frequently hangs out with Salem and Grommet. They have formed a beautiful bond that allows them all to feel safe and accepted. Dakota does love to be pet, and will even lean into your hand as if to say "thank you for seeing me" She is more than thankful for any attention you give her. If you have a little extra time and patience, please consider Dakota. We know Dakota would blossom in the right home. She has waited a long time for her turn to go home. Kalahari went home! He is our second "Desert kitten" to be adopted and we could not be happier for this handsome boy. His sister Gobi decided to sneak in a quick goodbye during photo time! Have a beautiful life Kalahari ❤️

What is your definition of hero? Someone that helps, saves, rescues those that need them. Someone that comes in to help when things seems impossible, or exceptionally difficult. We recently had THREE adult cats surrendered due to the death of "their person". We knew they so wanted them to stay together, but an adopter for a bonded trio is almost an impossible ask. Until a HERO named Daniel showed up for them. He was directed to us by someone that knew of these kitties, the situation, and also knew Daniel. Thanks to a little magic, those three cats are headed home to start their second chance with Daniel. Although we do not have pictures of the kitties or this amazing adoption (fingers crossed we get updates), it is still one of the most memorable! Thank you Daniel, you truly are a hero to Shadow, Cupcake, and Willow. Adopted 7-20 😻😼😻

We have another very special adoption (foster fail) to share. Laverne and Shirley are now "back home" with our much loved volunteers/foster family❤️. Once the Girls came back to the shelter this family realized they wanted them to spend FOREVER with them. We could not be happier for everyone! Laverne and Shirley adopted 7/18/2025😻😻

We are so excited to share that Sonora was adopted today! She is the first of the "desert kittens" to go home. Sonora was too excited to take time for a picture, but we hope they can send a family photo once she is settled. We 🩷 you sweet girl 😻
