The boys are back together & acting as if they've never been apart. Cash has been gone the last several months, gaining some life experience, but is back home now. Of course, right after the rain today, the two white horses proceeded straight to the mud to bathe. 😆

The last mare in for breeding just went home today. Aaaaaah! Another season wrapped up. Thank you to all of you that chose Bif as your super-stud, we appreciate it! And thank you for working around our crazy surgery schedules. I had knee replacement surgery 5 weeks ago, and Les just had his 2nd rotator cuff surgery on Monday. Somehow, we were able to "cowbow up" through our injuries and surgeries and get mares covered. We are now on the mend and hope to be back in full force next year. Shoot, we should practically be bionic by then!

Our hopes were to get Bif and Schatz back into the show ring this year, but Les & I are in no condition to work horses right now, so maybe we'll try again next year.

We're also hoping to get Bif back out to the expos next spring so anyone who hasn't met him has a chance to see him in person. Stay tuned on that one!

Big congratulations to Fred & Laura Neumann Jagdfeld today! They braved the heat and came home with some big wins. Jake is an orphan c**t by Heza Sexy Fella ("Bif"). Jake sadly lost his mama at just a few days old. He had a tough start, but Laura's done a great job with him and it looks like he's off to a very successful show career. 😍 Way to go Team Jagdfeld!!

After days of heat & standing in front of the fans, the ladies went back out to the pasture today & Koko decided to give herself a spa treatment... Nice, cool, wet, scratchy sand & no bugs. Ooooh, feels so good!

Bif made a funny last night. He tends to be very laid back when collecting, he likes to schmooze the ladies and takes his sweet time to get the job done; he's not really a wham-bam kind of guy. Well, I guess he wanted a little mood music because while he was puttering around getting himself psyched up, he reached over and cranked up the volume on the radio! And who said horses don't have personalities?! 😆🎼

Here's a photo of one of Bif's babies born this morning that no one knew existed for the past 10 months.

Last year we shipped to our client in Ohio, mare checked open. Shipped again, mare checked open again. The owner decided not to try again.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when the mare's farrier was out and asked the owner when she was due? While underneath her, he apparently discovered her bagging up. I got a panicked message from the owner who now needs to "baby proof" their place and prepare for a baby which they didn't know was coming. She was a maiden mare, with a maiden owner, so we had to quickly provide them with "Foaling 101" preparation instructions.

Happy to see it all turned out well, but what a bummer to have not had the excitement of anticipating a baby for the past year!! And how that mare hid that baby and all her legs is beyond me! I mean, she looks like she could be kind of thick, but jeeze, that's a lot of baby to keep hidden!
