At Shampooch, we provide high-quality grooming rooted in patience and respect. Owner Christina Gobar has always loved animals.

Our goal is to promote the well-being of every pet through a gentle, stress-free experience that makes them feel as good as they look. Since graduating from CT Canine Grooming School in 2008, she has worked at both small and large grooming salons, gaining insight into the industry and practices. After working at a national chain, she quickly realized that a local shop can offer more personalized a

nd higher quality services. Christina then transferred to Dirty Tails in Plainville, CT, where she has been grooming and tuning her techniques for over 12 years. With a burning desire to own and operate her own business, Christina is proud to announce that Shampooch Paw Spa, is open at 779 Newfield Street in Middletown, CT. When customers were asked, “why do you bring your dog to Christina?”, their response was unanimous: Because she loves every dog like her own. 🇺🇸 Memorial Day Closure & Remembrance 🦅

In observance of Memorial Day, our shop will be closed today. We will resume normal business hours tomorrow, May 26th. 🗓️

Today, our team is taking a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🫡🪖🎖️

Because we are a team of animal lovers, we also want to pay special tribute to the courageous military working dogs and other service animals who fought alongside them. Their loyalty, bravery, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🐕🐾

✂️ Teddy’s Big Day! ✂️

Our sweet boy Teddy officially graduated from his first ever groom! As you can see, he went from "floof monster" to "refined gentleman," and he is feeling himself! 🐾✨

For all our fellow puppy parents, we can’t stress this enough: start the grooming process early! **Timing is Key: Once your pup has completed their first full round of vaccinations, they’re ready; get them on the schedule!
• Building Confidence: Early exposure helps them get used to the sounds of clippers and the feel of the brush.
• A Lifelong Commitment: It's important to remember that long haired and double coated breeds like Doodles, Shih Tzus, Huskies, etc. require a lifetime of regular professional grooming and daily at-home care to keep their skin and coat healthy and their spirits high!
• Homework Matters: Keeping up the practice at home with regular brushing and "pawsitive" reinforcement is the best way to prevent matting and ensure they stay happy and comfortable between visits.
