At Shampooch, we provide high-quality grooming rooted in patience and respect. Owner Christina Gobar has always loved animals.

Our goal is to promote the well-being of every pet through a gentle, stress-free experience that makes them feel as good as they look. Since graduating from CT Canine Grooming School in 2008, she has worked at both small and large grooming salons, gaining insight into the industry and practices. After working at a national chain, she quickly realized that a local shop can offer more personalized a

nd higher quality services. Christina then transferred to Dirty Tails in Plainville, CT, where she has been grooming and tuning her techniques for over 12 years. With a burning desire to own and operate her own business, Christina is proud to announce that Shampooch Paw Spa, is open at 779 Newfield Street in Middletown, CT. When customers were asked, “why do you bring your dog to Christina?”, their response was unanimous: Because she loves every dog like her own. Christina is excited to begin this new venture, with the wonderful opportunity to give every dog the restful spa day they deserve

Fighting the Sleepies! 😴🐾

Talk about a total spa transformation! As you can see, sweet “OP” was fighting a losing battle against naptime right on the grooming table. 🤭

When OP first arrived, he was a little skeptical and less than thrilled but after a soothing warm bath, a fresh new haircut, and a whole lot of reassurance, everything changed. He went from super anxious to handing out endless kisses, wagging and completely melting into the experience until he could barely keep his eyes open! 🥱💖

Moments like the these are exactly why we do what we do. Grooming can be scary for a lot of dogs, but our mission is always to build trust and turn it into a positive, pampering experience. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a dog go from "no thanks" to "don't stop, this feels great!" We hope you had a wonderful post-groom nap, OP! 😌🥰✂️🫧

🌞 Summer Update: We’re Opening on Wednesdays! 🌞

To keep up with our increasingly high demand, we are expanding our schedule to offer more availability for our wonderful clients. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 10th, we will be open every Wednesday from 9am – 4pm for the summer throughout June, July, and August. 🕰️

Note: We will not be fully staffed and will only be booking a limited number of appointments on Wednesdays to maintain our quality of care, and we will remain closed on Sundays so our team still has a day to rest and recharge. 🐾 😴

🗓️Our Full Summer Hours:

🟢Monday & Tuesday: 8am – 7pm
🟢Wednesday (Summer Only): 9am – 4pm
🟢Thursday & Friday: 8am - 4:30pm
🟢Saturday: 8am – 4pm
🔴Sunday: CLOSED

We truly appreciate the top-tier entertainment these two bring to our grooming tables. There is nothing we love more than making our sweet furry clients feel amazing and look their absolute best! After some serious suds, lots of brushing and a whole lot of pampering, Ace and Kouda left here looking and feeling like a million bucks. Princess didn't start out this relaxed. When she first came to us, she wouldn’t let anyone touch her nails. But with time, she has become an absolute pro who is completely full of love and trust! 🙏🏽

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Closure & Remembrance 🦅

In observance of Memorial Day, our shop will be closed today. We will resume normal business hours tomorrow, May 26th. 🗓️

Today, our team is taking a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🫡🪖🎖️

Because we are a team of animal lovers, we also want to pay special tribute to the courageous military working dogs and other service animals who fought alongside them. Their loyalty, bravery, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🐕🐾
