Owner Christina Gobar has always loved animals. Since graduating from CT Canine Grooming School in 2008, she has worked at both small and large grooming salons, gaining insight into the industry and practices. After working at a national chain, she quickly realized that a local shop can offer more personalized and higher quality services. Christina then transferred to Dirty Tails in Plainville, CT

, where she has been grooming and tuning her techniques for over 12 years. With a burning desire to own and operate her own business, Christina is proud to announce that Shampooch Paw Spa, is open at 779 Newfield Street in Middletown, CT. When customers were asked, “why do you bring your dog to Christina?”, their response was unanimous: Because she loves every dog like her own. Christina is excited to begin this new venture, with the wonderful opportunity to give every dog the restful spa day they deserve

Roxy is currently kicking butt while undergoing chemotherapy, and you'd never know it. Her gentle spirit and loving presence are a constant source of inspiration to us all. She came in for her spa day and left feeling like the pampered superstar she is! 🌟

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a fantastic, long weekend filled with good company, good food and cherished moments! 🍁

Speaking of cherished moments…we were so happy to welcome this adorable little one for her very first groom with us! She was such a brave, sweet baby. We love making these initial experiences positive and comfortable for our new furry friends - “grooming with a loving touch” isn’t just our slogan, it’s our main objective! Just look at that fresh 'do! 🤩💖

🌟 Puppy Parents, take note! It is crucial to get your puppy used to the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming early on. We recommend booking their first professional groom as soon as they are old enough, which is typically after they have completed their first essential round of vaccines (primarily the Rabies vaccine), usually around 4 to 5 months of age. Early exposure makes for happy, calm dogs throughout their lives! 😌🙌🐾

Please note our holiday hours:
We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 27th. We will have a late opening on Friday, November 28th, from 9:00am until 4:30pm. We look forward to seeing you and your pampered pets soon! 🗓️

A friendly reminder: While it's tempting to share your delicious Thanksgiving feast with your pets, many common holiday foods can be harmful or even toxic to them. Please be extra careful to keep turkey bones, fatty and seasoned scraps, rich gravies, stuffing with onions/garlic, grapes, raisins, and anything with xylitol (a common sweetener) out of paw's reach to avoid upset stomachs or more serious health issues. When in doubt, it's best to stick to their regular pet food and treats! ⚠️
