Hello everyone! My name is Mera! Sorry for my rudeness…I didn’t mean to lick my lips in front of you, but I just had breakfast and boy, was it delish! One of my favorite things to do is eat! I love my soft food and breakfast and dinner are the highlights of my day! Along with playing, running around, napping and snuggling! I came to GM with my siblings Rumi, Jinu, and Zoey and we are so grateful to be here. Now we have the opportunity to be a part of a loving family. Not everyone is as lucky. Unfortunately, there are more homeless kitties than there are homes and shelters/rescues. Wish that wasn’t the case. But know that every time a kitty is adopted from GM, that opens up space for another kitty in need. So if you have been thinking about adopting, now is the time! Kittens season is here and we all need loving homes.
I am a tad bit shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, I am very sweet and social. In our foster home, we lived with 2 adult cats and got along great with them. So I can’t wait to find a home with some other feline friends. What would be awesome is if I went home with a sibling! So please come by this weekend! Hi friends. My name is Cassie. I was adopted from GM in 2018 and had a loving home for 6 years until I found my way back here. Thankfully once a GM cat, always a GM cat. But I miss my parents and my home so much. I miss sitting on the couch with them, watching TV or just relaxing. I miss sleeping with them at night. I miss just being loved by them. I wish I could be with them but it’s not possible. My mommy passed away and my daddy has medical issue and is unable to care for me. So my human big brother reached out to arrange for me to come back. He was not in the position to take me, and I understand.
I am a little nervous about finding a new home because I know it’s kitten season and our foster homes are busting with kittens getting ready to come here to find families. So I bet everyone will want them. Not many people bust down the door for a 9-year-old kitty. But I hope I am wrong. I hope there is someone out there for me. I am a very sweet, social girl that loves people and enjoys being around them. I would do fine in a home with gentle children because I know they would give me a lot of attention. I so want to snuggle on a couch again or curl up beside my human at bedtime. I really want that so bad. So if you are looking for an older kitty, will you please consider me? Reading to Cats happens every Tuesday and Thursday this summer and JULY slots are OPEN NOW!

Reading to Cats is a great opportunity for students between the ages of 6-12 to come to the shelter and read to our cats. It's a lot of fun for everyone!

It's limited to 10 students per session. So get tickets while they're available!

Hello everyone. My name is Skittles. I was found hanging out in someone’s backyard and they took me in and cared for me until space opened up at GM. Because I didn’t grow up around humans, I am very nervous around them. I am only nine months old, but if we don’t interact with humans early on, it takes us longer to learn to trust them. I am getting better though! I know everyone loves me and is being very patient with me, but it’s going to take some time. It will probably be a while before I approach anyone for attention, but if you see me in a cat tree, feel free to slowly approach me and ask for pets. Just stick your hand out, let me sniff, then I will let you pet me on my head. I don’t like to be approached from behind, but if you come to me from the front and gently scratch the top of my head, I really do like it. So I am looking for a patient family, willing to work with me and give me time to adjust. And someone that will really commit to me and love me for who I am. I know in time I will be a loving companion, I just need someone to give me a chance.
Since I am so shy and insecure, I would really benefit from having a friendly feline friend or two. In my rescuer’s home, there were a few cats and I enjoyed their company. So I think I would learn to trust quicker if there were other confident kitties in the home.
