📸 It’s time! The 2026 AGSDR Calendar is in the works and we’re looking for YOUR amazing German Shepherd photos!

Got a stunning shot of your shepherd? Think they’ve got what it takes to be one of our 13 featured pups? Submit your best horizontal, high-res photo (no humans, please!) by July 31, 2025 to be considered.

Austin German Shepherd Rescue has been notified of fraudulent activity involving individuals falsely claiming to represent our organization and stating we are affiliated with Tito’s Handmade Vodka. These individuals are reportedly reaching out to local bars and distributors requesting donations on our behalf. This is not authorized by AGSDR and is completely false.

We want to make it clear:

❗️AGSDR has not contacted any bars or distributors for donations in partnership with Tito’s Vodka.

❗️We are not affiliated with Tito’s Vodka in any formal or promotional capacity.

❗️Any such outreach is fraudulent and does not represent our organization or values.

If you have received a suspicious request of this nature, please do not respond and instead forward the email or information to us immediately at [email protected].

We are actively working to address this issue and protect the integrity of our rescue and the businesses we partner with. Thank you to Tito’s Vodka for bringing this to our attention and for their continued commitment to ethical support of animal welfare organizations.

🐾 BIG shout out to our new friends at Hotel Indigo Austin Downtown – University for welcoming AGSDR with open arms (and paws)! Today, we enjoyed touring their stunning hotel and were greeted by their incredibly kind valet and concierge staff before stepping into their beautiful, art-filled lobby.

But let’s be real—the highlight? Meeting their hotel pup, Lobo! 🐶 This 6-month-old long coat German Shepherd totally stole our hearts. (What can we say? We’re a little biased when it comes to Shepherds 😉)

We also got a peek at their pool and cabana space with jaw-dropping views of downtown Austin—it’s truly a hidden gem in the heart of the city. 🌃

We’re thrilled to kick off this new community partnership and deeply grateful to businesses like , which care about giving back. It means the world to us when companies give back to their community. 💕

✨ One Year of Healing, One Year of Hope ✨

It’s hard to believe, but Michael has been with us for an entire year. When he first arrived, we suspected he had been used as a bait dog. His body told a heartbreaking story of fear and neglect. But Michael has written a new chapter since then, one filled with love, trust, and resilience.

This gentle soul has come so far. He loves his people, adores a good nap in the sunshine, and lives for belly rubs. He’s ready, well more than ready, for a forever family to see him for the loyal, loving companion he is.

This week we saved four puppies, but we also made a promise to one very special senior. 💕

Meet George. At ten years old, he came to us from the Dallas shelter in rough shape. Today he arrived at his foster home, and it’s clear this may become a hospice foster.

No matter how much time he has left, George will know love. He’ll know what it means to be part of a family. And when he tells us he’s ready, we’ll be there to hold his paw. 🌈

Sweet Berloiz needs a lifesaving blood transfusion, and his vet bill is climbing fast!

Today alone, care for all 4 puppies topped $1,700, and we’re now bracing for another $3,000 to give Berloiz a chance.

These 6-month-old pups were rescued just in time, but we need YOUR help to keep them safe and healthy.
