At White Fences Equestrian Center, care is in every detail ...from the way we handle horses to the way we tend the land. One of our barn stewards has a quiet gift for gardening. Each fall, he plants roses in thoughtful little clusters. Come spring, we’re surprised by color and grace in the most unexpected corners of the farm.

After careful review (and some very strong opinions from the herd), we’re excited to roll out our Reverse Training Program starting Monday.

🐴 Horses will now be training us. Meet Chief Trainer Sir Whinnies-a-Lot, specializing in ground manners, proper treat distribution, and daily turnout scheduling.
He says we’ve got a lot to work on. 👓📝

✨ Tack Talk: Proper Saddle Care for Every Equestrian ✨

We had the pleasure of Debbie from Trilogy Saddles visiting our barn to check saddle fit and reflock saddles for our horses. Her expertise is invaluable, and we’re so grateful for her time and knowledge! 💙

Proper saddle care is essential for both horse and rider comfort, here are some key tips to keep your tack in top shape:

🧼 Clean & Condition Regularly
After every ride, wipe your saddle down to remove sweat and dust. Deep clean with saddle soap weekly, followed by a leather conditioner to keep it soft and protected.

🛠 Flocking Matters (📷 Saddle maker at work)
Over time, flocking compresses and can create pressure points. Having a professional like Debbie from Trilogy Saddles check and reflock your saddle every 6-12 months ensures even weight distribution and maximum comfort.

🐴 Watch for Signs of Poor Fit (📷 Checking for back soreness)
A well-fitting saddle prevents discomfort and injury. If you notice dry spots, white hairs, or back soreness, it’s time for a saddle fit evaluation.

🎠 Store It Right
A well-stored saddle lasts longer! Keep it on a padded rack in a cool, dry place. Use a cover to protect it from dust and sunlight.
