Have you ever dreamed of working with horses at liberty?

Of building a connection so deep that you can communicate without reins, without a lead rope… just you and the horse?

Maybe you've watched Liberty performances in movies or at equestrian expos and thought, I wish that could be me.

Well… here's your chance.

At Paz Equestrian in Madison, Connecticut, you can learn the art of Liberty horsemanship with our incredible lesson horses.

And the best part? You don't need to own a horse, and you don't need any previous experience.

Whether you're taking your very first steps with horses or looking to deepen the connection you already have, we'll help you discover what's possible when you learn to communicate beyond the reins.

Your Liberty journey starts here.

Please help us to welcome Anne Schioppo to the team here at Paz Equestrian!

I first met Anne almost a decade ago when she was a working student with my program before heading off to school to focus on riding, training, and instructing.

I always loved having her as part of our barn crew. She was absolutely beloved by both the riders and the horses. Here we are almost ten years later and are lucky enough to have her back!

Anne started riding when she was 9 and knew from her first ride that she never wanted to do anything else. When she began her riding career, Anne Evented and absolutely loved jumping and doing cross country at shows.

At that time it was all about jumping. It wasn't until she attended Meredith Manor Equestrian Centre that Anne fell in love with dressage and understood the importance of it. While attending school there, she focused mainly on achieving a teaching and training certification and setting her goal to become a professional dressage instructor.

Anne’s goal is to be able to earn a bronze medal in dressage and begin the process to become a dressage judge. Anne also spent some time competing in hunters, reining, and games classes. She also currently holds an OHSA judge card and is looking to obtain more.

Anne will be available for private, semi-private, and group lessons on Fridays and Saturdays here at beautiful Paz Equestrian in Madison, CT.

Lesson spots are filling fast so reach out ASAP to get on her schedule. As always, we limit the number of rides our school horses are allowed to do each week, so once we’re full, we’re full!

Send us a message or email to schedule!

Now Booking for Fall Riding lessons!

Paz Equestrian in Madison, CT is a boutique riding program offering a combination of riding, groundwork, and liberty lessons.

Why do we call it a boutique program?

Because here, you’re not just another lesson rider. You’re a valued person welcomed into our community. Lessons are all private or semiprivate so we can really get to know you and focus on your goals. No getting lost in a big group lesson.

We limit our lesson horses to 5 riders per week, so they are not over worked and get tons of turn out, unlimited hay, and days off. This makes for happy, healthy horses for our riders.

It also means that once we’re booked, we’re booked.

On top of that, riders learn to become horsemen through many extra horsemanship experiences as well as monthly unmounted classes that are INCLUDED when you sign up for lessons.

Reach out to us to schedule your trial lesson before we fill up for the school year!

Due to riders leaving for college, we currently have FOUR openings for the September through December session.

Love horses but not into riding? We might have the only liberty program in the state where you don’t need your own horse! Sign up for liberty lessons on one of our well schooled lesson horses!
