We just wanted to provide an update to all those asking when food will be available separately.

While we work through kinks and adjust to managing the shop full time in Kelly’s absence (GOD is she missed!) we do not want to commit to a date to provide individual food packets yet.

This doesn’t mean we won’t have this option available in the future (we hear you! You want it - we have it and we want to provide it!).

For the time being we are producing small batches of food to test the waters and you can still get our foods in The Healthy Start Bundle.

What it DOES mean is we don’t want to commit to a date and disappoint you. It is SO important to us to be able to keep up with demand and provide complete transparency to the incredible community and loyal customers that have loved Kelly and South of the Ocean for so long.

Therefore it’s detrimental to us to only announce products and carry them when we are fully ready to commit and are able to maintain inventory for your hermit crab needs. We ask that you bear with us as you have while we still navigate this huge transition.

We hear you loud and clear and cannot thank you all enough for the endless support and encouragement. This journey would not be possible within you and we are dedicated to maintaining South of the Ocean and carrying on the incredible legacy Kelly has trusted us with.

Thank you for always loving us. Always shouting us out. Always promoting and tagging us. And thank you for always supporting us.

On behalf of the entire South of the Ocean team we want to thank each and every one of you for your outpour of love and support for us yesterday for our reopen. You all not only sold us out of Better Than Leaf Litter and other favorite products but you have all touched our hearts in the deepest way with all of the comments, shares, and genuine love you showed us.

It has been a crazy past 24 hours and we appreciate you and we hear you. Going forward, we want to always be able to provide outstanding service and availability to you the way you deserve. You have showed us immense love and support and this is the first of our many steps in the direction of a better SOTO for all.

With this being said we are transitioning to a new model of weekly restocks. Every Friday at 12pm ET (11am CT and 9am PT) we will restock the goodies that we have available and already bagged/packaged. This ensures that your order is able to be shipped as soon as possible to you for your hermit crabs to enjoy.

While this may limit our inventory at times we believe it is the best practice to continue to encompass our belief of a “farm to table” type approach where you receive the freshest ingredients and the packaging to ship timeframe is minimal. We promise you - we hear you and we care for your crabs as if they are our own - South of The Ocean will continue to provide high quality products for you and your hermit crabs to enjoy.

We will see you Friday, January 23rd at 12pm ET and will restock our Better Than Leaf Litter and other products for your crabs!

Thank you all again so much for the support and encouragement. Thank you for waiting all this time loyally and thank you all for coming back the moment we reopened to show us all of this love. We couldn’t have done any of this without you and we are so grateful and proud of this community. We love each and every one of you and we look forward to the Friday restock!
