An Open Appeal to the Hermit Crab Community

Crab Con is made possible by people and organizations who choose to show up for the hermit crab community.

Speakers donate their time and expertise. Volunteers work behind the scenes. Sponsors and supporters help strengthen the event. Official vendors purchase booth space, prepare their virtual booths, donate prizes for giveaways, and promote Crab Con through their own platforms.

Together, they create the event our community enjoys each year.

Unfortunately, we have seen sellers who are not participating in Crab Con schedule competing “Crab Con sales” during the event. Everyone is free to run promotions, but these sales benefit from the attention and excitement generated by Crab Con without contributing to the event itself.

That has real consequences.

When shoppers are pulled away from official Crab Con vendors, it reduces the value of participating in the event. Over time, that can make it harder to retain vendors, secure giveaway donations, attract sponsors, and continue building the kind of educational conference this community deserves.

If you value Crab Con, please support the people and businesses who support Crab Con.

Before shopping during Crab Con weekend, look for official vendors and sponsors. Choose the sellers who invested in the event, donated to the giveaways, promoted the conference, and helped make Crab Con possible.

Your support helps protect the future of Crab Con.
