An update on Dancer, a 6-month-old Doberman rescued from the Palmdale, California shelter. ❤️‍🩹

When Dancer arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, he couldn’t stand or walk due to fractures in his spine and pelvis.

But Dancer is a fighter.

With physical therapy, laser treatments, red light therapy, water therapy, and peptide treatments, he’s making incredible progress!

Following recent neurological and orthopedic evaluations, doctors confirmed his fractures are old and his spine does not currently require surgery. However, an old femur fracture is causing pain, and surgery may still be needed.

For now, our focus is on building Dancer’s strength through rehabilitation, while continuing to monitor his progress and evaluate future treatment options.

Every step forward is a victory, and we’re not giving up on him.🐾

A major step forward for animals across Florida is coming this November‼️

Big Dog Ranch Rescue attended the 2026 Florida Sheriffs Association Executive Leadership Conference & Fleet Exposition in Orlando, where we introduced our new Florida Statewide Animal Cruelty Hotline to sheriffs and law enforcement leaders from counties across the state.

Launching November 15, this hotline will give people across Florida a direct way to report suspected animal cruelty and help bring attention to animals who may otherwise suffer in silence.

This is more than a hotline. It is a new lifeline for animals across our state and an important step toward making Florida a safer place for every animal.

We are incredibly excited to launch this statewide resource and work alongside sheriffs, law enforcement agencies and communities across all 67 Florida counties to help protect animals who cannot protect themselves.

They can’t call, but you can.

A major step forward for animal welfare in Florida! ❤️We were honored to welcome Florida State Representative Meg Weinberger For State House to Big Dog Ranch Rescue to announce the launch of our Florida Statewide Animal Cruelty Hotline on November 15th!

Operated by Big Dog Ranch Rescue in partnership with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, this statewide initiative will give Floridians a place to report suspected animal cruelty, abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Too often, people witness animals in concerning situations but don’t know who to contact. This hotline aims to connect reports with the appropriate authorities. Every animal deserves to live free from abuse and neglect, and protecting those who cannot speak for themselves is a responsibility we all share.

Our efforts to protect animals go beyond the hotline. Representative Weinberger and Big Dog Ranch Rescue are also working toward stronger legislation to hold irresponsible breeders accountable and establish better standards of care. No animal should have to endure cruelty at the hands of those responsible for their care, and stronger protections are essential in preventing suffering before it begins.

Education is another important part of this mission. With our animal welfare curriculum already three quarters complete, we are working toward introducing it in Florida schools by the end of 2027. Our new education building at Big Dog Ranch Rescue is also expected to open in February 2027, helping us teach the next generation about responsible animal care and the importance of protecting animals. Our children are the future, and education is where lasting change begins.

Through this hotline, we are taking an important step toward strengthening protections for animals across Florida and empowering communities to speak up when something isn’t right. Together, we can help prevent cruelty, hold those responsible accountable, and create a safer future for animals throughout our state.

Josephine has been waiting far too long for a home of her own 🧡

Josephine is a sweet 4-year-old mixed breed who was rescued from the Texas border and has been at Big Dog Ranch Rescue since 2024.

With her playful personality and moderate energy, Josephine enjoys spending time with people, playing with her favorite toys, and splashing around in the water. She is affectionate, loves cuddles, gets along well with other dogs, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash.

Josephine has so much love to give and is ready to experience the comfort and companionship of a forever home.

After all this time, this sweet girl deserves a family who will give her the love, happiness, and life she has always deserved.

We received an urgent call from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control about a puppy named Snow White, who was found as a stray hiding underneath a car, in desperate need of help.❤️‍🩹

This sweet girl is suffering from severe demodex, leaving her skin painfully inflamed, irritated, and covered in scabs. She is also battling hookworms, and there are concerns that she may be deaf.

After being discovered by a police officer and brought to PBACC, our team at Big Dog Ranch Rescue stepped in to bring Snow White to our facility, where she will receive the proper medical treatment, attention, and compassionate care she needs to begin her road to recovery.

Her journey to healing won’t happen overnight, but every step forward will bring her closer to the day she can be ready for adoption and find a loving family to call her own.

Snow White is just one of the many dogs who find themselves in heartbreaking situations, waiting for someone to give them a chance.

Our sweet Ellie is looking for a home to call her own. 🤍

This beautiful 5 year old Rottweiler was brought to us after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved owner, who was a veteran. Ellie brought so much comfort and companionship to her previous owner, and her family hopes she can bring that same love and comfort to her next family.

Ellie loves being around people and has such a fun, outgoing personality. She enjoys staying active and is very food motivated, so a tasty treat is definitely the way to her heart!

After experiencing such a big change in her life, Ellie deserves a home where she can feel loved, secure, and part of a family again. She has so much love to give and is ready to bring that special companionship into someone’s life once again. 🏡🙏

Judge Jeanine Pirro Visits Big Dog Ranch Rescue 🇺🇸🐾

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming Judge Jeanine Pirro to Big Dog Ranch Rescue for a special visit!

Judge Jeanine Pirro is no stranger to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. She has been a wonderful supporter of our mission, using her platform to advocate for animal welfare and raise awareness about the use of dogs in laboratory testing. Her efforts to bring attention to this issue have helped amplify our message and give a voice to animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Her commitment to rescue goes beyond advocacy. Several months ago, Judge Jeanine Pirro opened her heart and home to two of our rescued Ridglan beagles, Snoopy and Lucy, giving them the loving forever home they deserve.

During her visit, she had the opportunity to tour our Ranch, meet more of our rescue dogs, and see firsthand the lifesaving work our team carries out every day to give dogs in need a second chance.

We are incredibly grateful to Judge Jeanine Pirro for her continued support of our mission and for the difference she is making for animals in need.
