🚨 URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED FOR OUR GENTLE GIANTS 🚨

These precious Great Danes have endured a life of endless breeding and confinement in a puppy mill. They’ve never known the gentle touch of a loving hand or the comfort of a safe home. By fostering, you give them what they’ve been denied their whole lives, the chance to heal, to learn trust, and to finally know love. Fostering not only changes their lives, it greatly improves their adoptability and makes space for us to rescue even more dogs still waiting for their chance. 💜

💜 Eliza (5 yrs) – A quiet, sensitive girl who is still learning how to feel secure. Eliza is house trained, calm, and does well with other respectful dogs. She’s best in a peaceful, adult home where she can settle in at her own pace and feel safe.

💙 Monroe (5 yrs) – Gentle and regal, Monroe is blossoming into the affectionate companion she was always meant to be. Once she trusts you, she leans in for pets, rests her head in your lap, and quietly follows you just to be close.

💚 Perley (5 yrs) – A shy boy with a soft spirit who prefers calm, predictable routines. Perley is most comfortable in a loving home without little ones, where he can take his time, gain confidence, and learn what it means to be cherished.

This weekend’s Westlake Bark to School in the Park was a tail-wagging success! From happy adoptions to smiling alumni, our BDRR family showed up in full force. Our amazing alumni set up a lemonade stand and donated the sales to help more pups find their forever homes. 💛

The park was full of fosters, adopters, wagging tails, and endless love as we kicked off Bark to School season the best way we know how—by celebrating dogs, families, and forever homes. 🏡🐶

They may be pint-sized heroes, but they’re packing full-strength puppy charm. These SUPERPUPS have already mastered potty training, sleep through the night like champs, and those sharp baby teeth? Long gone.
Each one is still full of playful puppy energy and the sweetest snuggles, but they have been waiting far too long for someone to notice them. We do not want them to grow up here at the Ranch when they could be growing up in a loving home where they belong.

💔 It is with a Heavy Heart that we must share the heartbreaking news that Homestead Mama has passed away. Our medical team worked tirelessly through the night, fighting for her with everything we had. In the early hours, she slipped away peacefully, surrounded by love.⁠
Your prayers were not in vain. They carried her through her final hours, and we believe she is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Sometimes, despite our greatest efforts, God’s plan is different from our own.⁠

This is the tragic reality of abandoning dogs. A reality we face every day in rescue. We will honor Homestead Mama’s memory by continuing to fight for every dog like her, and by working even harder to give them the second chance they deserve. Her passing is also a powerful reminder of how critical it is for rescue partners to come together quickly, so that every dog in need has a fighting chance to survive. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your unwavering support. May we all hold Homestead Mama in our hearts as we fight on for those still waiting. 🙏🐾⁠

🚨 URGENT PRAYER PLEA 🚨
This evening at 6:45 PM, beautiful “Homestead Mama” arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue after being found collapsed in someone’s yard — weak, struggling, and trying to give birth. 💔

A good Samaritan took her in, but heartbreak followed. The next day, she delivered a stillborn puppy. Another followed. He rushed her to a vet, where he had to pay $500 for the medical visit and was then told she would need $1,500 for surgery. Desperate, he applied for veterinary credit, but was denied. That’s when he reached out to us.

We immediately offered to take her in, but then learned another rescue was stepping in to help and give her the medical care and surgery. Sadly, Mama never received the surgery she desperately needed. Her condition worsened until it was critical. By the time our team was called today and immediately sent an employee to bring her to safety, we weren’t sure she would survive the ride.

This poor girl is now in our intensive care unit, far too unstable for surgery and fighting for her life. She is battling severe pneumonia, acute liver and kidney failure, severe pancreatitis, and what may be a retained placenta. Her prognosis is very guarded, but we are doing everything in our power to save her. If there was ever a dog who needed prayers, it’s now.

The good Samaritan who found her is bottle-feeding her surviving puppies — a duty she should never have been forced to face alone. This is the tragic reality of abandoning a pregnant dog.

Please, stop what you’re doing and lift this sweet mama up tonight. Pray for her healing. Pray for her strength. Pray for a miracle that will give her the chance to heal and love for the rest of her days. 🙏🐾

🐾 Weim Wednesday: Four Times the Love, Four Times the Weim! 🐾

💜 Pipper & Violet – These gorgeous 2-year-old girls were surrendered together and are inseparable. They’re a bonded pair who must be adopted together—they’ve been each other’s constant through thick and thin, giving one another comfort, confidence, and companionship.

Pipper is a confident, high-energy sweetheart who thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation. Violet is just as high-energy but can be shy or timid when first meeting new people. Once she warms up, her playful and affectionate side shines. Both girls are house trained, know their basic commands, and are wonderful with cats, dogs, and kids. True to their breed, they’ll do best with an adopter experienced with Weimaraners who understands their active, loyal nature. They love toys, splashing in the water, and cuddling up when it’s time to relax. Together, they bring double the joy, double the love, and double the tail wags!

🤍Jasper – This 5-year-old silver stunner was surrendered by an owner who could no longer care for him. Don’t let his age fool you—he has the energy of a young pup! Jasper is housetrained, loves to play with toys, and enjoys ending his day with cuddle time. He’s good with other dogs but values his independence, so slow, proper introductions are important. He’ll thrive with an experienced dog owner—ideally someone familiar with Weimaraners who can be a strong, confident leader. Jasper is still polishing his basic training and leash manners, but he’s smart, eager to learn, and especially motivated by treats!

💙 Blu – Our distinguished senior gentleman was surrendered by his owner and is ready to spend his golden years in a loving forever home. Blu’s soulful eyes and gentle nature will melt your heart. He deserves comfort, care, and a cozy spot by your side for the rest of his days.
