We are excited to highlight two incredible mares joining the Ridge College Preparatory Showcase! Both horses are proudly offered for sale and will be available to try following the event.

🐴 Dorothy
Oldenburg / Thoroughbred Cross
Bay Mare | 17.1hh | 12 years old

Dorothy is an even-tempered, intelligent, and willing mare with a kind disposition. She is confident, cooperative, and easy to handle both on the ground and under saddle. She is work-oriented without being hot, sensible in new environments, and truly enjoys having a job.

Riding Highlights:
• Light to the aids, soft in the contact
• Automatic, clean changes
• Goes forward willingly with a supportive leg and soft hand
• Responds well to quiet voice aids
• Best suited for 2’9”–3’0” divisions

🐴 Done Bobbin Auntie Em (“Emily”)
Oldenburg / Thoroughbred Cross
Grey Mare | 15.3hh | 10 years old

Emily is a true “ho-ny” — the perfect horse to take a rider from ponies to children’s, juniors, and beyond. Compact and pony-like with a big step, she has a wonderful brain and an incredibly kind nature.

She was first shown by an amateur, then competed with a professional at Kentucky’s Green Incentive Finals after just six shows. Most recently, she earned Champion with a junior in the Low Children’s / Adult Amateur Hunter division at WEF this summer.

Riding Highlights:

🔥 Throwback to true grit in the saddle! 🔥

Back in the 1963 Hickstead Derby, legendary rider Ted Edgar took on one of the toughest courses in show jumping — with a broken arm in a sling. 🐎💪

It’s hard to imagine that level of determination today. Edgar wasn’t just fearless; he was one of the sport’s great characters, a true horseman whose courage and commitment left a lasting mark on equestrian history.

A powerful reminder of the toughness, passion, and heart that define our sport.

🐎 Welcome Our Incredible Horses from Shadowwood South! 🐎

We are thrilled to introduce the next group of amazing horses generously being lent to us by Shadowwood South. Each of these standouts brings talent, experience, and personality to our showcase—we are so grateful for their support!

✨ Roman
Roman is a super sweet, small bay 9-year-old Welsh pony. He is well versed in walk, trot, canter, and cross rails from schooling shows in the North. At home, Roman schools 2’3” courses and will be showing at WEF at the end of the season. New to Palm Beach County, Roman is truly one of the best small lesson ponies at Shadowwood South.

✨ The Lone Ranger (“Ranger”)
Ranger is a popular medium Welsh pony with an impressive resume, having competed on the NIHJA circuit in the Midwest and the Palm Beach County Horseman’s Association shows. With many championships to his name, Ranger excels as a walk/trot pony and is wonderful at teaching riders how to jump.

✨ Phoenix
Phoenix is a 13-year-old, 16.2-hand chestnut Thoroughbred gelding with experience at schooling shows in the Midwest. Most recently, he was Reserve Champion in the Jumpers at the Palm Beach County Horse Show and Reserve Champion in the 2’6” USHJA Hunters during Pre-Charity Week at WEF. Phoenix prefers a confident rider with a soft hand and regularly schools 1.20 meters at home.

✨ Skywalker
Skywalker is a barn and show-ring favorite—a 9-year-old, 17-hand black Thoroughbred gelding. He has competed in the jumpers through the .95s, earning championships at Palm Beach County Horse Show, Equestrian Sports Productions (Wellington), and World Equestrian Center (Ocala). Skywalker has also successfully competed in the hunters at WEF.

✨ Zen Blue HH
Zen Blue HH is a 9-year-old, 16-hand bay Westphalian gelding with extensive experience showing through the 1.00 meter jumpers at Ledges, HITS Chicago, and Equestrian Sports Productions.
