Home for Penny & Rufus Rufus & Penny: A Bonded Pair Awaiting a Forever Home

Meet Rufus and Penny, a magnificent and inseparable pair of Great Danes seeking a true forever home.

Rufus is a handsome 5-year-old fawn male, while Penny is a striking 11-year-old black female.

We're delighted to share wonderful news! 😍 

Rufus has found his forever home with a loving family through BDRR, and he's thriving in his new environment.

What's more, he's gained a new brother who bears a striking resemblance to him, making them look like twins.

In an incredible coincidence, Rufus's adopter is a high school, AAU, and USAV volleyball referee, with family members who also play and coach volleyball.

We're overjoyed for Rufus, who's finally found his place in the world.

His sister, Penny, is at peace with Coach Keenan in heaven and Rufus is starting his new life in his wonderful, new home.

We have been notified by Big Dog Ranch Rescue of the heartbreaking news that Penny's health began to decline over the past several days.

She began experiencing pain and difficulty with walking and a lack of appetite, despite being hand-fed by a compassionate employee at the Ranch.

Penny passed away peacefully yesterday. She was 12 years old!

She is now reunited with Coach Keenan, who we are certain was eagerly awaiting her arrival in heaven.

RIP sweet Penny.

We kindly request prayers for Rufus, who has now endured the loss of both his human and fur family members.

We are still actively working to find Rufus a new home.
