What a successful Pups & Pilates event with instructor Erica Scott at Bloom Market & Refillery!

Thank you to everyone who came out, stayed active, and supported the pups at Animal Care Society. Our dogs had a wonderful time meeting each and every one of you and soaking up all the love and attention.

A huge thank you to Bloom Market & Refillery for generously allowing us to use your beautiful space, and an extra special thank you to Erica for donating her time and talent to teach not one, but two amazing classes! We are so grateful for supporters like you who help make events like this possible.

🚗🐾 Mutts & Motors – Our First Year is Rolling In! 🐾🚗

Join us for the very first Mutts & Motors at Animal Care Society (12207 Westport Rd) on June 28th from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM!

We’re bringing together classic cars, local vendors, food trucks, and adoptable dogs for an afternoon full of fun—and best of all, it’s free to attend!

Expect to see around 75 classic and custom cars on site, and if you’ve got one of your own, roll in and show it off—classic car registration will be available day-of.

We’re also still looking for vendors to join us! For just $20, you’ll get a 10x10 space to set up and share what you do—whether that’s handmade goods, thrifted finds, baked treats, or a fun info booth for your business or organization. Registration is available on our event calendar, or reach out to Haleigh at [email protected].

We’ll also be hosting a 50/50 raffle drawing during the event!

And of course… the mutts 🐶 Adoptable dogs will be on-site and roaming throughout the event, ready to meet their people while you enjoy food trucks, great cars, and a laid-back afternoon at ACS.

Hey, I’m Knuckles… but my fam (my shelter staff) calls me Knucks. I’m a 1.5-year-old Mastiff mix with big feelings, big strength, and an even bigger personality.

I’ve been through some rough stuff. I was abandoned right outside ACS, tied to a post overnight by the people I trusted most. By morning, I’d chewed myself loose, but trust? That took a little longer. Honestly… can you blame me?

Thankfully, my fam (my shelter staff) didn’t give up on me. They’ve been patient, understanding, and have helped me start learning that some people really do stick around. I’m working with a trainer to channel my intensity, and every day I’m making progress.

At my core? I’m a passionate young guy who just really, really wants to play tug until my jaws tire out. Tug is my love language. Give me a toy, a strong grip, and some patience, and I’m one happy dude.

I’m up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested, and neutered — so all my important stuff is covered while I keep working on becoming the very best version of me.

I may have a tough backstory, but I’m more than that. I’m resilient, goofy, loyal, and full of potential. Underneath all my strength is a young dog still learning how to trust, love, and maybe… eventually… let go of the tug rope.

Funky & Groovy came to us at just 4 weeks old — tiny babies who needed a safe place to land. Now they’re about to celebrate their very first birthday still waiting for the one thing they’ve always deserved: a forever home. 🖤
Funky is the sweet, laid-back girl of the duo, while Groovy is her playful, loving best friend. They are FELV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus positive), which means they have a weakened immune system and should either be the only cats in the home or live with other FELV+ kitties. But please don’t let that scare you away — FELV cats can still live happy, love-filled lives with the right home and care.
Their adoption fees are fully sponsored. All they need now is someone willing to open their heart to two cats who have spent almost their entire lives waiting to be chosen.

Even better? All of these dogs are eligible for our Foster to Adopt Trial Period! That means you can take them home for up to 3 weeks to see if they’re the right fit for your family before fully committing.

We always encourage adopters to remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
🐾 First 3 days: your new pet may feel nervous or overwhelmed.
🐾 First 3 weeks: they begin learning routines and building trust.
🐾 First 3 months: their true personality starts to shine as they fully decompress and settle into home life.
