FOUND FERRET!!!

Very sweet, docile Female Ferret found on Hwy 393 near Fendley Road in La Grange.

Caller found her in their front yard. We think she’s about a year old!

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who sent messages. Sally picked up two beautiful babies today. They will live an amazing, cage free, spoiled rotten life!

I am posting for a friend. This person has adopted from Kentuckiana Ferret Haven for years and years. She recently lost one of her three precious furbabies. He was a senior ferret with chronic health issues. She was wanting to adopt another ferret. Preferably a young ferret. Currently I am at capacity but none of the ferrets in my care are under 6 years old. I get in more elderly or sick ferrets than young healthy ferrets. If there is someone out there that was considering rehoming their ferret but wanted to be absolutely certain they got a great home, this is that home. My friend is looking for a ferret under 1 year old. Doesn't matter what color or if it is a boy or a girl. Please feel free to post in the comments. She will follow the post and reach out.

This is Stanley. He is one of my seniors. He came here in 2021. We estimate him around 8 years old. He is adrenal, receiving the yearly implant. In the last couple weeks we felt two bumps pop up under his skin. Luckily he was able to quickly get in to have them removed. They were growing at lightning speed. In such a short time one had already grown to tangerine size. We are hopeful the Histopathology report will come back with good news. I’m so thankful for Animal Hospital, Dr Keehner and all the staff. There are no words that can adequately express how skilled, caring, compassionate and supportive they are.
Ferrets are masters at masking pain and illness. If you see any physical changes or changes in behavior I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to get them checked out.

Two precious girls. Too soon 💔💔
First I said goodbye to Carly. The sweetest and most gentle girl. She came here in 2022. She developed both Adrenal and Insulinoma. Despite the implants and steroids, Insulinoma took its ugly toll on her tiny body.
Today I kissed my beautiful Shyren goodbye. She would be 9 this year. And up until two weeks ago was as vibrant as a young ferret. She came here due to an ugly habit she had of biting. I didn’t cage her and I believe that helped to cure whatever mental scars she had from likely being mishandled at a young age. She developed a tumor in her chest cavity. I had the fluid drained but it quickly came back.
I’m grateful to both of the young ladies that surrendered Carly in 2022 and Shyren in 2019. I loved your girls. I gave them the best and now I know they’re in heaven, no more pain or sickness. I will always love them Forever

I have someone looking for a single or pair. She has experience and previously had ferrets. She is a school teacher and would like a ferret or two that could spend the day in her class. That means a lot of love and interaction. No kids will be taking the ferrets home and they will be handled with love and gentleness.
I currently don’t have any young or healthy ferrets available for adoption. So if there is anyone out there that has a ferret or two they need to rehome this is a great opportunity.

Thank you all!! And you know who “You” are. It’s been a rough year, both personal and with a lot of sick ferrets. BUT I am so grateful for so many things. This beautiful picture of Chevy I will always cherish. I am so blessed and humbled that you had this made for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!
