FoMa Lauren shared this important message about , "This shy little sweetheart was SO brave on our trip to meet her fosters at LMAS this evening! Look at those grateful eyes—if that face doesn’t say “thank you!” then I don’t know what does.
Because of FIRST TIME FIELD FOSTERS Larisa Crawley and family, this little angel won’t have to spend a minute in a kennel at the shelter. It saves HER the trauma of being in the scary shelter environment and potentially saves the life of another dog who has been at the shelter longer. When there are more incoming dogs than there are kennels, impossible decisions have to be made.

Fostering SAVES lives! And new fosters are SO needed.
Most “veteran” fosters are at or over capacity—just like the shelter itself. I love it when new people decide that yes, they CAN do this! More of this, please 🥰🥳

Don’t let this Dad bod fool you! He can take a 2 mile walk like a champ! He’s house trained, crate trained, and good with other dogs. He’s a good balance between needy and independent. He listens pretty well and if he’s being mischievous, all you have to do is bounce or throw a ball (ball is life), and he’s on the chase! No kitties please and Fo Ma would say older kids since he’s like a bulldozer when he gets the zoomies 🥰.

Mister Perfect Peter Pupper is 100% adorable, adoptable, and sponsored!!

“Let me introduce you to this AMAZING dog, who I absolutely would keep as a personal dog if I didn't want to keep my heart open for fostering.

Peter Pupper is a small-ish dog. He's about a year old and 35lbs. He will go to his new family with these amazing qualities:

-dog friendly (happy playing w/ dogs of all sizes)
-cat friendly (doesn't bother them 1 bit)
-kid friendly (not jumpy and doesn't mind their shenanigans)
-housebroken (no accidents here!)
-crate trained (sleeps allllll night, or all day if you need him contained while you go to work)
-snuggle bug (prefers sleeping in bed with you)
-great car rider (no stress or noise)
-not a barker (hellloooo apartment/condo people!!)

This dog is perfect. Truly, just incredible. He's listed as a German Shorthaired Pointer mix, but my phone calls him a Rat Terrier and Basenji. Whatever he is, he. is. cute. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and adoptable thru TODAY!

“Do you need a comic in your life? Do you want a dog with a big personality? Sq**rt is for you!

Not often do I belly laugh on a fieldtrip with Louisville Metro Animal Services but Sq**rt is a big ol' goofball.

He'd rather roll to your car through the grass than walk. Ever seen videos of 🐼 pandas just somersaulting everywhere? That's Sq**rt but he is rolling over. A lady in the parking lot actually took a video of me trying to get him to stand up to get in my car. He just wanted belly rubs.

We stopped for a bath (cause of grass stains no joke) . He's a water eater (see the video). He was great letting me lather him up and rinse. But he isnt a fan of the blower because it looks like a big gassy 🐍 snake!

I thought I'd let him pick out a toy while in Feeders Supply and he grabs hold of an elk horn that I realized cost the equivalent of a dinner for 4 and he was pretty attached to it. 🤷‍♀️. We head back to the car, walk over a grassy median and the first thing he does is drop into his back into the freshly laid black mulch. Now he is covered in it and way dirtier than he was when we went in. My back seat is covered in a very fine film of dark dust.

This boy is a hot mess and reminds me of one of my kids when he was about 8 and had no sense. He was also a hot mess and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Sq**rt is completely loveable and needs someone to give him some TLC to fatten him up a bit.”

On March 8th, crews from the Fairdale Fire Protection District, Pleasure Ridge Fire District, Fern Creek Fire Department, and Okolona Fire District battled a fire at an abandoned property. They had no idea a life was trapped inside—until one firefighter stumbled upon a cat buried in debris.

Drenched, reeking of smoke, and struggling to breathe, the cat was rushed outside, where Officer Thompson arrived as firefighters wrapped him up. Emergency responders placed him on oxygen, dried him off, and he was transported to .

Vet staff sprang in to action, transferring him to a heated incubator. His body temperature was too low to read, and for two hours, he lay unresponsive.

Then, a small sign of hope—he sat up. Stabilized but still weak, he remained in the incubator overnight, with plans for further care in the morning. Thanks to the quick action of first responders, Officer Thompson, and vet assistants, this cat now has a second chance at life.

Firestarter wants to go home. He is recovered from his singed fur and broken spirit. He loves to be pet and makes the best biscuits- they are always nice and warm 😜
