🐾 Fun Fact Friday! 🐾

Did you know that some cats have extra toes? These special felines are called polydactyl cats! 🐱✨

What does “polydactyl” mean?
It comes from Greek—“poly” means “many” and “dactyl” means “digits.” Polydactyl cats typically have more than the usual 18 toes—some have up to 28 toes in total!

Why does this happen?
It’s all thanks to a genetic mutation passed down through the generations. In fact, polydactyl cats were once considered good luck by sailors, who believed the extra toes helped them balance on rough seas!
