Here is what bumblefoot looks like. It is often caused by a small cut that allows bacteria to infiltrate the foot and then causes infection. Ms Cloud her has been treated with antibiotics and regular Epsom salt soaks and protective bandages. Her case is more severe than we usually see, but she is also a very heavy breed duck which is often a contributing factor.

💔 In Loving Memory of Lily 💔

Our sweet blind hen Lily has passed away last week. Though she couldn’t see, she lived each day with trust, resilience, and grace. She was so deeply loved here at the sanctuary, and her gentle spirit will always be remembered.

RIP sweet girl!
