Mickey
Chestnut, TB Mare
16 hands
12 yrs old
Located in Lafayette, CO
Sweet personality, this mare loves to be loved! Not spooky, I rode her in the wind with flags flapping next to the arena, and not even an ear twitch in their direction. Has not really been ridden in the last three years, so low miles.
Mickey is a little out of shape, but coming back steadily.
This is a fancy mare! She is a fantastic mover! Could be a nice hunter, or a fancy dressage horse. She has a great start, good off your leg, has nice leg yields, easy on both leads. Mickey is such a big bodied mare she can also take up a long leg. Not a slight TB!
She was started over cross rails as well, now she is just waiting for you to take her in whatever direction you want her to go.
She has been used as a trail horse very intermittently, at her current home.
Trailers well. Stands for the farrier. Stands for vet.
Up to date on vaccinations, wormer, and teeth.
I wish I could take this horse for myself, she will be a nice easy project for whoever finds her. Not once offered to do anything naughty even after 3 years off. I think she could easily be finished off by a good amateur/teen in a program with a trainer. I would not say she is a total beginner horse, but that she seems pretty forgiving and wants to try.
Never had any maintenance. But I would assume that once she goes into more regular work, you will find she needs something. She’s a horse, not a robot, and has only been back under saddle for a couple weeks.
Currently barefoot, but getting shoes this week.
Knows how to be respectful on the ground and stands quietly on crossties. Stands quietly for mounting.
Will work on some video soon.
