🚨EMERGENCY/TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED🚨
This afternoon, a gentleman brought in this puppy after seeing someone try to leave him behind at his place of work. He’s estimated to be about 3-4 months old and weighing about 15 lbs. He is very sweet and wants to be loved, but when he arrived, he was (understandably) very frightened. He was able to give him a flea bath and bring him to us, but couldn’t do anything else for him.
Most days, we aren’t able to take in animals that have been brought in this suddenly since we don’t have a physical shelter. Everything we take in depends on whether we have a foster home for them to stay in and whether they pass behavioral & veterinary assessments. Today, however, was a special case. Every other shelter in the area is closed today, and he couldn’t house him overnight, so he had no other place to go.
So this is where we stepped in. We gave him treatment for fleas & ticks and gave him another bath to wash off the dozens and dozens of fleas that were on him (as well as a few ticks). Right now, he’s safe and off the street, but we are reviewing our options to make sure that he stays that way.
That’s where animal lovers like you come in. In order to make sure that this little guy can stay with us, we need someone with a spare bedroom or bathroom that can house him (even for just one night!) while he awaits further assessment. Since he is awaiting veterinary care, he does need to be kept separate from other animals in a sanitized environment, but CARE will provide anything a temporary foster needs for a night (such as food, puppy pads, cleaning supplies, etc.). If said foster can keep him longer, that gives us time to take him to our chosen vet this week and get him his first round of shots and become a CARE pet officially!
If you’re interested in fostering this little guy, please apply on our website at https://www.careforanimals.org/foster-application.
If you are unable to foster, we just ask that you share this post with any animal lovers in your life so that we can get as many new eyes on this guy as possible. We appreciate you all so much and couldn’t do this kind of work without CARE Heroes like you!
