One thing about me, if my garden plug calls and says, “I have a few things you might want,” I’m pulling up! 😂

Apparently, “a few things” meant loading up the whole back of my truck. Seed-starting supplies, trays, pots, plant spacers, cover crop seeds, and more!

My plug would like to remain anonymous, so don’t ask me who he is. 😂 But seriously, I truly appreciate him thinking of me and always looking out for DevaSprouts Farms. All of this will definitely be put to good use! 🌱

We had a great time at Saint Mark Baptist Church learning how to transition the garden from summer to fall! 🌱

Together, we cleaned out the garden beds, added compost and discussed fertilizers, and planted fall crops. We also discussed soil preparation, plant spacing, watering, and the difference between planting seeds and transplants.

The best part was putting everything into practice and working together in the garden. I’m sharing the planning guide I created for the class in case anyone else is getting ready to transition their garden for the fall season.

Thank you to St. Mark for inviting DevaSprouts Farms to lead this hands-on workshop!

We’re officially 2 days away from our Transitioning Summer Crops to Fall Crops workshop at Saint Mark Baptist Church.

If your summer garden is looking a little tired and you’re wondering what stays, what goes, and what you can plant next, come hang out with us Thursday evening. We’ll talk about preparing your beds, choosing fall crops for Arkansas, planting timing, and keeping those gardens producing into the cooler months.

📅 Thursday, August 27
⏰ 5:30–7:00 PM

Today’s little Plantmania haul 🌱

Fun fact: I can grow a whole garden, but houseplants? I don’t know about all that…. I already had two that have somehow managed to survive me, so today I decided to try again and added five more.

I played it safe though because I was NOT about to spend all that money on those big plants just to bring them home and kill them. 😂 So we started small, grabbed a couple pots, and we gone see how this goes.

And of course, my little mermaid was right there shopping with me…🧜🏾‍♀️

Houseplant people, send me your tips because clearly I need them!

🌱 The summer garden is winding down… so now what?

This is what my garden looks like right now. Some things are DONE done 😂, some have already been cleared out, and a few said, “Hold on, I ain’t finished yet!”

And honestly, that’s exactly what transitioning from summer to fall looks like.

I’m not pulling everything just because we’re getting ready for a new season. I’m looking at:

🌱 What’s still healthy and producing?
🍂 What’s finished and ready to come out?
🪱 What areas need compost and a little more soil?
🥬 And what do I want to grow this fall?

You don’t have to transition your whole garden at once.

Take inventory. Clean up. Feed your soil. Make a plan. Then plant.

That’s what I’m working on over here at DevaSprouts Farms, and we’re going to talk a LOT more about fall gardening over the next few weeks.

So tell me: what’s still hanging on in your summer garden? 👀

LOOK WHO GOT A GIG! 🌱😂

Devani is officially on the clock!

Today she’s taking pictures, making notes, and helping me assess the garden beds as we get ready to transition from summer to fall.

And honestly, this is where fall garden planning starts.

What’s still producing?
What needs to come out?
What are we planting next?

Before you start buying seeds and plants, take a look at what you already have and make a plan based on what you actually want to grow and eat.

Want to learn how to transition your garden for fall? Come join me on August 27th at St. Mark Baptist Church.

Looks like somebody finally clocked in! 😂

🌱 Sunday Reminder

A new month. Tiny seedlings. A fresh reminder.

Real growth isn’t loud. It’s built through consistency, accountability, and showing up day after day even when the progress seems small.

Here’s to growing what matters this August.

🌱 Garden Lesson of the Day 🌿

We started our fall seeds today. 🥹

A lot of people think gardening is over because it’s so hot outside, but in Arkansas, late July is actually the perfect time to start many of your fall crops from seed.

We’re planting collards, kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts now so they’ll be ready to transplant in a few weeks.

One tip: This Arkansas heat will dry seed trays out fast! Keep them in the shade, check them every day, and don’t let the soil dry out while your seeds are germinating.

Fall gardening starts now. 🌱

On This Edition of “Let Them Kids Be Kids” 💦

Today on the farm… the girls helped pull our corn. We ended up with one little ear (and a few burnt-up stalks)… but hey that’s gardening. Sometimes you get enough for a crab boil and sometimes you get a lil bowl of popcorn. 😂

Y’all know it’s been crazy hot outside, but that’s no reason to stay cooped up in the house. We cooled off the old-fashioned way. Y’all remember drinking straight from the water hose, playing in the shade, and eating something cold? Yep… we did that today.

We’re soaking up our last few days of summer break! ❤️
