You may have heard news about a growing pet food recall this week. Rest assured, no prescription pet foods sold at CPAH are involved! Please see the FDA website linked below for accurate information about brands recalled due to Salmonella contamination made by Mid America Pet Foods (including Victor brand and some Member’s Mark foods).
Mid America Pet Food, Mount Pleasant, Texas, is expanding its October 30, 2023, voluntary recall to include additional pet food products, with Best By Dates before 10/31/24, made at its Mount Pleasant facility, due to the products’ potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. November is , and we wanted to bring awareness to some early onset signs to remain vigilant of:
-Excessive drinking
-Increased urination
-Weight loss
-Appetite changes
-Cloudy eyes
-Chronic or recurring infections, especially skin and urinary infections

CPAH had a fun family get together this last weekend! It was a great evening for it! S’mores hotdogs, pulled pork, games, laughing children and adults enjoying each other. What an incredible work family we have! Many more not pictured (oops, too much fun, not enough pictures 😃).

We celebrated Vet. Tech. Week and what a week it was! We had fun gift baskets! Tons of food (thank you for the amazing clients that brought us snacks and desserts galore!)! We played Plinko (big thanks to the humane society for letting us borrow your game!)! Lots of laughter, words of appreciation and we did our best to remind these wonderful employees just how much they’re valued, this week and every week. Thank you ALL. 👏🏼

CPAH friends, meet our friend Mac! Dr Kaufman and staff got to celebrate him today as he finished his last chemotherapy treatment. We are so happy for Mac and his family that his lymphoma is in remission! We will miss your naps and snuggles during your treatments, but we know you will be getting plenty of love at home. In veterinary medicine, we get to see the whole circle of life. Sometimes we get lucky enough to see a whole litter of adorable puppies just starting out in life! Good morning! A big shout out to our incredible, Jamea, she recently had a work anniversary and we’re celebrating today! She is such a great addition to our reception team. She is a friendly face, has a wonderful demeanor and is always so happy to help! Very thankful for her!
Your pet’s vision is one of the many things we keep an eye on during wellness exams. 👀
We check for any sign of disease or discomfort as problems such as cataracts, glaucoma, and ulcers can progress quickly. If you haven’t booked your pet’s wellness exam just yet, we hope to see you and your pet soon!

We have had some phenomenal graduates come from the Maple Woods program and we couldn’t be more thankful for their knowledge! We also have a current staff member that is a student there and we really look forward to her graduating! I’m sure we’ll have future graduates from there, as well. Very thankful for all that Maple Woods teaches and does for our veterinary community!
