Houdini came to see us after ingesting medications that weren't prescribed for him.

Our team performed baseline bloodwork to evaluate his condition, induced vomiting, administered activated charcoal, and provided additional supportive treatments to address the potential toxicity.

A gentle reminder: Both human medications and medications prescribed for other pets in the household can be dangerous if accidentally ingested. Keeping all medications safely stored and out of paw's reach can help prevent unexpected emergencies.

We're sending Houdini lots of love and hoping his next adventure involves a few more treats and a little less trouble! 💙✨

When Elmer the Beagle got his paws on some raw chocolate chip dough, things quickly took a turn! 🐶🍪

His pet parents brought him to UrgentVet Carytown, where the team acted quickly to help. With medication to induce vomiting, they discovered Elmer had eaten a whopping 2.4 pounds of dough! 🍞

Raw bread dough can be dangerous for pets because the yeast continues to ferment in their stomach, producing alcohol that can lead to toxicity. Add chocolate to the mix, and it's important to seek veterinary care right away.

Thankfully, Elmer got the care he needed!

When your pet runs into a bit of "Ruff Timing", UrgentVet is here to help. 🐾
