🐝 THE HIVE WOULD LIKE TO FILE AN OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY ANNOUNCEMENT 🐝

Today is Dr. Curry’s birthday — owner of Mitchell Animal Hospital, All Creatures Mobile Vet, mom of 3, wife, sister, daughter, dog mom to 4 pups, and honestly… a freaking super star

Dr. Curry is not the kind of boss who stands outside the chaos.
She is usually **in the chaos**.
Sometimes she is absolutely the reason for the chaos.

“Can we save this kitten in Tennessee?”
“Yes.”

“Can we squeeze in more sick appointments?”
“Yes.”

“Is today already completely insane?”
“Yes, but someone needs us.”

That is Dr. Curry.

She has our backs, we have hers, and this whole MAH family, staff, clients, pets, rescue babies, mystery lumps, spicy cats, dramatic dogs, and everyone in between is better because of her.

She leads with heart, humor, ethics, and a deep personal commitment to ham sandwiches with mustard on rye. Cupcakes are fine to ;-)

**Douglas vs. His Dramatic Chest Situation 💙**
(One of our rescue kids)

During Douglas medical exam, **Dr. Curry found that Douglas has a severe case of pectus excavatum**(his chest did not form the way it should).
Without surgery, this sweet little man will not have the long, ridiculous, snack-stealing, blanket-attacking life he deserves.

And honestly? Unacceptable.

Douglas has tiny crimes to commit. People to make cry. Hearts to steal. Snacks to supervise. A whole future of being aggressively adorable.

Dr. Grossman has donated her time to try to save Douglas’ life, because MAH staff apparently cannot see a tiny kitten in trouble without immediately throwing their whole hearts into it.

Now we need help with his **anesthesia, medications, and surgical supplies**.

Any contribution helps give Douglas the fighting chance he deserves.

How do we even begin to talk about Hannah without crying into the laundry pile? 💛

Hannah has been part of Mitchell Animal Hospital through so many chapters — Dr. Marc Mitchell’s days, Dr. Sarah Curry taking over in 2018, a new clinic, a marriage, one baby… and now baby #2.

She has been one of those rare people who doesn’t just work here — she becomes part of the heartbeat of the hospital.

Our patients love her. Our clients love her. We love her. And honestly, MAH is going to feel very different without her here every day.

We are so incredibly happy for Hannah and her growing family, but we are also going to miss her more than words can say.

Hannah, thank you for the years, the love, the laughs, the chaos, the calm, and everything you have given to this place. You will always be part of MAH. 💕

Zander’s name means “defender of the people,” and honestly… that feels pretty perfect.

His adoption didn’t work out because he needed to stay with us a little longer for his neuter, but we believe everything happens for a reason.

This handsome little guy is still waiting for the people he was meant to love, serve, protect, and probably supervise from the nearest cozy bed. 😻

Rest easy, K-9 Dundee 💙🐾

Today we are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Dundee after an unexpected medical emergency.

Dundee wasn’t just a police K-9. He was a working dog, a loyal partner, a protector, a professional good boy, and yes… absolutely the kind of handsome patient who knew he was important when he walked through our doors.

We were honored to have Dundee as part of our MAH family and to care for him. Dogs like Dundee give their whole hearts to their handlers, their departments, and their communities — and they ask for nothing but love, trust, and maybe a treat or two for being ridiculously brave.

Our hearts are with his handler, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, and everyone who loved him.

Thank you for your service, Dundee.
You were a very, very good boy.

The runway has opened and these babies did not come to play.

These boys come as a duo because apparently they signed a lifetime contract. They are playful, sweet, dramatic, and fully prepared to turn your living room into a kitten wrestling pay-per-view.

MAH Friday: Quills, P**p, Needles, and Overachievers

Both of our queen bees, Dr. Curry and Dr. Grossman, were in the building today… so naturally the universe opened a folder labeled “Absolutely Not.”

Porcupine quills, a possible lepto suspect, abscesses making poor life choices, diarrhea entering the chat, ear infections being dramatic, tech appointments, annual appointments, and Dr. Curry doing acupuncture like a calm little magical needle fairy in the middle of the circus.

And then Dr. Grossman had to go and casually become even more amazing with her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP certification).

At this point, we’re just collecting rockstar doctors like Pokémon.

Have a great weekend! We’ll be back bright and early Monday, hopefully with fewer quills and less p**p. 🐾

Not “I’ll only be 5 minutes” hot.
Not “I cracked the windows” hot.
Not “but she loves errands” hot.

I love many things:
✨ my pink coat
✨ my emotional support bed
✨ being worshipped properly

What I do not love is becoming a rotisserie chicken in your Subaru.

🚗 70° outside = 89° in the car in 10 minutes
🚗 80° outside = 99° in 10 minutes
🚗 85° outside = 104° in 10 minutes
🚗 90° outside = 109° in 10 minutes

And it keeps climbing.

Cracked windows are not air conditioning.
They are just tiny disappointment slits.

Leave your dogs home in the AC, with water, snacks, and the ability to silently judge you from the couch like royalty intended.
