November is Adopt-A-Senior Pet Month 🐾—and there’s never been a better time to splurge on a classic cat or dog! Senior pets are often the hardest to adopt, when in fact they often make the best pets because they’re already housebroken, have good manners, and won’t chew everything at ground level!

Another advantage of elder pets? They tend to require less exercise if your family is more low-key or you’re on the couch-potato side of athletic. That’s not to say that an older dog isn’t able to keep up with a good daily walk; most canines and felines are considered seniors between seven and nine—but at that age, the majority still have quite a bit of get up and let’s GO!

You can find plenty of amazing, lively senior pets waiting for someone to love at our local shelters and rescues! 🐾

We love Mae! ♥️

Mae had her first vet appointment with The Veterinary Wellness Center and she honestly did phenomenal.

The vet is not always a pleasant place for a dog to be, but it is sometimes necessary.

Dr. Barrett and the entire staff at The Veterinary Wellness Center asks all the right questions and truly listens to suggestions on how your dog does best in certain situations, which we appreciate so very much.

Mae got everything addressed for her annual exam in one appointment, including blood work and vaccines.

We are so grateful to have gotten into this integrative vet clinic and equally as grateful to Jocelyn Willis of Elated Canine for recommending them to us.

We are beyond thrilled with the level of care and attention our dogs receive here and we absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for integrative veterinary care.

We also love the holistic alternatives that are offered here including acupuncture and hydrotherapy, which we may be looking into as our two age.
