Always make sure your pet is safe and comfortable and has sanctuary away from the booming sounds of fireworks. Also, be sure to monitor poppers, noisemakers, and explosives before, during, and after displays, and always keep a close eye on your pet to prevent any potential problems.

Emily is our newest technician at PKAMC. She comes to us after years of working with horses when she decided she wanted to work with small animals. Though she is still learning, she is an amazing assett to the team. She is a natural with patients and is eager to learn everything she can. She brings positive energy everyday and we are lucky to have her!❤️

She has a special touch with patients and is a go to for our particularly large and in charge friends. She brings a great attitude to the team and is a pleasure to work with!❤️

Dental health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health, and dental problems can cause, or be caused by, other health problems. Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian to check for early signs of a problem and to keep your pet’s mouth healthy. Take advantage of our dental health promotion this February!

I have been taking my puppy here since I got her last October. This weekend out of the blue her paw began to swell, by Sunday it was extremely swollen and I assumed it may be fractured. I called Brentwood AH who told me if she was eating and drinking it wasn’t an emergency but call her vet 1st thing in the AM to have her checked. I called in the AM, described the situation, and was told they had no appts available but I could bring her in later in the week! Dumbfounded I questioned that they do not have urgent slots for their patients and was told they only had 1 vet in that day and no room to see my dog. Concerned for my dog I searched for other vets in the area and was able to get her seen immediately. The dog had a temp of 105.6 which is critical and required them to ice her. As it turned out her paw was infected not broken. With temps that high, she may not have survived until Plaistow Kingston Animal Medical Center got around to seeing their patient. I called and left messages to speak to the vet to give her a piece of my mind and got the run around from the staff. Finally spoke with Sarah Wallace who essentially put the blame on me rather than to be sympathetic under the circumstances. She has zero people skills and needs to take the chip off her shoulder as I told her over the phone. She hung up on me which in itself is unprofessional on all fronts since they have my dogs’ complete medical records. Needless to say, I will never take any pet of mine to Plaistow Kingston Animal Medical Center. For all the vets they list on their website they always seemed understaffed to the point they cannot make room for their patients. Look for a full service vet that actually provides all the services you would expect when your pet is well and more importantly, when they are not.
