Happy Saturday, friends! It was definitely time for a coop clean out! 🐔🧹✨

We pulled out the old bedding, gave everything a good cleaning, and added First Saturday Lime throughout the coop and run. We love using it because it helps control moisture and odors while making the environment less inviting for flies and other pesky insects, and it’s designed to be safe for use around animals when used as directed.

We also replaced all of the nesting pads so the girls have fresh, clean places to lay their eggs and finished everything off with some Eaton Pet & Pasture Coop Refresh for that extra fresh, aromatic boost. 🌿🐓

Nothing quite like a freshly cleaned coop... until the chickens decide to redecorate it approximately 12 minutes later. 😂

Sadly, despite Ruby’s best nesting attempts, we lost both of her sweet babies. 💔🐰

When I checked on them yesterday morning, one had already passed. The second was still alive but very cold, so I immediately brought it inside and tried everything I could to slowly warm it back up. Unfortunately, it passed shortly after.

Ruby had worked so hard preparing her nest, but she dug a spot down in the nest box where there wasn’t enough hay underneath the babies and didn’t get them completely covered with fur. With only two tiny kits, they simply couldn’t generate enough body heat together and became too chilled.

I gave Ruby some time with her babies before removing the nest box so she could process that they were gone. Now we’re going to give this sweet mama plenty of time to rest, recover, and get lots of extra love before we even think about breeding her again. ❤️

Sometimes farm life brings the sweetest moments, and sometimes it absolutely breaks your heart. These two little ones were only here for a very short time, but they were certainly loved and absolutely beautiful. 🤍

The nursery is officially under construction! 🐰🍼🤎

Ruby is due any day now, and her mama instincts have kicked into high gear. Watching her carefully gather hay and prepare the perfect little nest by pulling her own fur for her babies never gets old. 🥹

Good morning every bunny! 🐰

If you are a bit disappointed that all of our babies were reserved before you got a chance to jump on it, cheer up!! We have 2, possibly 3, more litters due over the next couple of weeks that should bring quite the variety.

Two pairings were repeats of our favorite and most popular babies and one pairing was a first time combo, so I am super excited to see what that one will bring.

Our handsome Pongo was just reserved to a brand new customer, Quanasia Johnson. She is excited for him to meet his new friend, a chocolate sable magpie, in September as well. Sounds like he will be in adorable company.
