Treetops Kitty Cafe is run by the non-profit Treetops Animal Rescue. We are the first and only Cat Cafe in Chester County currently! Cat Cafes are open environments for rescue cats to mingle with visitors. We do not operate as a food service, but we offer self-serve hot beverages to sip on while you mingle with our cats. Entry fees are listed on our website along with information about how to adopt a cat from us!

What exactly IS Treetops?! Treetops Kity Cafe is a safe space for shelter cats and humans alike. Cats can roam free in our rescue, allowing them to interact with the public during our open hours.
Your visit will require a small entry fee per person that goes right back to helping the cats in our care. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and utilize every penny from donations to keep our mission going.
These cats are formerly feral, previous strays, or were cast aside by their owners. At Treetops, we aim to help rehabilitate these cats and help them find a new home that understands them. We frequently welcome cats with "spicy" behaviors or cats who like to hide. The underdog kitties are our bread and butter! With Treetops love, they begin to thrive and blossom into amazing pets.

What is Quiet Hours? Well, it's a lovely evening with our kitties where you are guaranteed a cozy and calm time. Unlike our normal business hours, this is adult-only time. We'll be hosting Quiet Hours once per month over the summer on Third Thursdays, so mark your calendars!

Hello again from Boo! 😽
Boo is hoping her forever human is out there. Someone as chill as her with a lot of love to give. Boo is one of the sweetest cats I've ever met and she holds a special place in my heart! She will make a wonderful companion for someone very lucky.
Boo is 12 and in good health aside from a mild heart murmur. She is not on any medications. She loves pate wet food and snoozing in dark places. She snores so loud that you can hear her from across the room! She's very polite and doesn't jump on counters or scratch the furniture. Her manners are astounding and I cannot believe she hasn't been scooped up yet!

Taylor is new to the Cafe this month and he has been making quite a name for himself already! So many people leave and tell us that their favorite cat was Taylor. 🥰 He loves to be loved and will lick you to show his affection back. He's only 7 and has an incredible personality that will do well in just about any home with a quiet to moderate activity level. He has met a dog and was confident enough to pass his "dog-friendly"" test, but he should not live with high prey drive dogs or dogs who have not been tested with cats (as most cats shouldn't!). He's great with other cats.

Once or twice a year, we can finally answer the infamous question: "Do you have any Siamese?" Well folks, now is the time!
Sally just arrived yesterday. She's a gorgeous Siamese mix lady with a very affectionate and confident personality. She's already exploring the Cafe and getting her bearings. She has lived with other cats in the past but is hissing at everyone here until she settles in. Sally loves physical attention and will melt into you for some scritches.
Sally is 10 years young and proud of it. She's a mature lady with mature needs, so please be extra sure you're ready to adopt because Sally is not looking to play games! She is ready for her golden years retirement home with humans who want to pamper her forever!
Oh, and she has extra toes. 🎤 Mic drop.

Still looking for a forever home!
Tinkerbell was adopted from us in 2020. We assumed all was well in her home until we received an email in late 2023 saying how "aggressive" and "unfriendly" she was. Having no idea how such a chill, sweet cat could be in this situation, we took her back and immediately saw through the smoke. Tinkerbell was living with children and adults who had no idea how to interact with cats. She was yelled at and reprimanded like she was a dog. If you know anything about cats, you know that raising your voice to a cat is the worst thing you can do to form a bond. This poor girl had been mistreated and was incredibly stressed in her environment. Her stress was manifesting as fear-based aggression. It was even recommended to the family by their vet to place her in a barn home because they called her "feral". Feral cats cannot be touched or placed in carriers, so that vet was a little off base here. We're no stranger to feral cats here and we could tell something was horribly off with this situation.
Upon arrival at the Cafe, Tinkerbell settled in immediately. She is one of the most social, affectionate, and well-mannered cats we have. She greets everyone at the door and is always found in the middle of the action when the lounge is full of guests. She does amazingly with kids who understand how to interact with cats and has never threatened a child in our controlled environment. She is great with cat-friendly dogs. She gets along fine with other cats but is not a good fit for a home with a dominant cat. Tinkerbell is the target of some bullying here from time to time, so we know she has one of those personalities that alpha cats gravitate towards. She went out on a foster-to-adopt opportunity a few months ago that was unsuccessful because her housemate did not want her there.
Tinkerbell is an amazing cat. She could fit in just about anywhere, but we don't want her going "just about anywhere". She needs a tailor-fit home with people who understand cats. We know our community is full of people who would be a great fit for Tinkerbell. Please help us find her a final forever home! She deserves it!

Barn cats available!
Whiskers and Main have been with us for 15 months. They are both friendly with other cats and can live around people, but want a low-expectation home where they are not pressured to interact. They would do very well in a safe barn situation or as house pets with an owner who does not mind their lack of desire for human interaction.
We always tell everyone that Main and Whiskers just live here rent-free, which is true! 🤣 They are gorgeous to look at, but do not want to be touched. They will interact for feeding time and Main will flop over on his back, rub on everything in sight, and meow when he wants food. Whiskers is pretty quiet and reserved, but she has a spunky side and loves to play. They were once adopted together before coming to Treetops and were returned because they were not settling in as expected. We see and respect their boundaries here. We celebrate when they show us an unexpected side of their personalities. But most of all, we accept them for who they are and we do not intend to push them to be more social. Thank you to everyone who helped us with our Spring Fundraiser! We are thrilled to announce that we received a $2,500 grant from The Mushroom Festival towards our kitty condo project! Kat is just a big-eyed girl, gazing at you through your screen, begging for you to give her a chance.
This girl is a good fit for the single pet owner, a couple without kids or other pets, or a family with older kids (12+) who have experience with cats.
Kat is the classically misunderstood sassy kitty who just needs space sometimes. She prefers to come to you and will tell you when she wants her space. She regulates herself well and if you know her cues, you'll get along swimmingly. While she can co-exist with calm cats in the Cafe, we recommend Kat as your only pet so she can be happiest. She doesn't pick fights, but instead is the constant target of bullying, leaving her on the defense. It's hard for cats like her to get adopted here because she usually does not "sell" herself. You won't find Kat begging for your attention in the lounge. You won't get her to jump into your lap. But if you're willing to give this underdog a chance, I guarantee you won't regret it. Every cat I've ever fostered who is like Kat ends up being the sweetest, snuggliest cat. They're just better one-on-one and that's totally okay!
Kat will be your best girl for life if you decide to adopt her. She is about 6 years young and fully vetted. She is litter-trained. We do not recommend Kat to a senior owner or families with young kids because she does have some sass and will use her claws to communicate when she is stressed. Frank and Esther are a bonded set looking to live out their lives in a safe home. This little girl is Lilly. She is a tiny adult kitty with the sweetest disposition. The Cafe is not quite Lilly's favorite place, but she's doing just fine here. We would love to see her in a safe and loving home as soon as possible so she can get back to life as a cat with confidence. Lilly is friendly with other docile cats and she could live with older kids who are respectful of her space. She has the sweetest little meow and loves to be petted.
If you want a forever kitten (a tiny adult), Lilly is your girl!

Boo did wonderfully during her dental surgery yesterday! She had a few extractions to remove teeth with cavities and a good scrub on everything else. Her pre-surgery blood work was great and she'll be ready to come back to the Cafe by next week!
Right now, she's in foster care at my house and she is just so thankful to be in a home. She will make the purrfect companion for any family!

Boo is another Treetops kitty with a heart murmur and dental troubles (truly, how do I attract these kitties! 😂), but hopefully after her surgery tomorrow, she'll have one of those two problems fixed! We did do labs on her to make sure her heart is strong enough for surgery (it's called a proBNP test).
All I can say is, thank goodness we're here for cats like Boo. She's 12 and was scared to death in a public shelter. She had recently been surrendered and was depressed. She has blossomed into the amazing cat I knew she was the minute I saw her picture. I actually walked into the shelter and requested to take Boo no matter what. So take Boo I did. She is SO sweet, charming, and easy-going. She just needs someplace soft to land for her senior years. Not an ounce of spice in this calico and she gets along with other kitties. Boo prefers a quiet environment and thrives when she can lead interactions. Her go-to move is to emerge from hiding (napping & snoring) when the Cafe is quiet enough. Then she'll make her rounds and say hi to everyone within reach, take a few laps around the Cafe, and head back in for another snooze. Her snoring is so loud that you might hear it in the lounge during your visit. 🤣 This girl takes her sleep seriously, so if you're a like-minded mammal who enjoys their naps, Boo is your cat.

Do you have room in your home for two furry gremlins? 🤣 Seriously though, Sirry and Genesis really need a foster home or someone to adopt them ASAP! The Cafe is very overwhelming for them, despite how social and outgoing they are. Some cats are overwhelmed by the people in the Cafe, but these two are overwhelmed by the other cats. They prefer to have the place to themselves, so we will only consider applicants who do not have other pets. They can be very energetic and love to run fast, so a large home would be wonderful for them. They’re available to foster, foster-to-adopt, or outright adopt, but they must be taken together. They’re so stunning, friendly, and vocal. They’re great cats, it’s just not a good place for them here! If your home is ready for these goofballs, please reach out to us. We’re looking for immediate placement!

We raised $1,651 yesterday for Cheddar ❤️😭 This surpassed our goal by a mile and I’m going to make sure Cheddar is fully taken care of before allocating funds to a reserve for future cardiac cats! Thank you to everyone who is sending us the lickable treat pouches! We will have plenty for meds and nail trims! Here’s a little peak at how we use them for trimming nails! Doesn’t always work with every cat, but for cats that like to nip at your fingers while you trim, it is magic!✨

Why do we use cages (AKA our kitty condos)? Our condos are a safe, secure, and calm place for kitties who need daily medications, are recovering from surgery or other minor procedures, or just need a spot to themselves while they adjust. We have moved our condos around a bit and they now reside behind the front desk so they can see people, but not be in direct contact with our guests in the case of contagious illness. Since we are a rescue as well as the cat cafe, we have to treat minor illnesses all the time! This is how we do it without foster homes. 🥰
Meet Hayley! Hayley is one of our day-hiders and she spends most of her day sleeping in the back room, but in the mornings we get to interact with her at her chattiest time of the day! Where did Hayley come from? Well, Hayley was cowering in a cage at the local shelter when I first met her. Her kennel card warned that she would dart if the door was opened, so I opened it slowly and approached her with a soft voice. She smelled my hand and allowed me to start petting the side of her face. She then began to knead the blanket she was standing on. She smelled the top of my head and continued to enjoy being pet. I knew she wouldn't stand much of a chance in that cage because she was so terrified. It took Hayley a few days to start exploring the lounge area after arriving at the Cafe, but now she comes out at night and early in the morning before she heads to a nap spot near the back room. Hayley is gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. She would love a patient family to call her own. She would do well with kids who understand her need for alone time. Her interactions with our other cats have been wonderful and she gives them head bumps whenever possible. She is skittish upon approach, so dogs may frighten her at first. I'm hoping someone out there is looking for the opportunity to give a shy cat a quiet home because Hayley is a gem! Approximately 5 years young and fully vetted + chipped

Children over 5 are welcome in the Cafe. However, we require that children be accompanied by an adult the entire time they are visiting. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to pick up or handle the cats (gentle petting and playing with toys is encouraged!).
Anyone found to be mishandling, mistreating, or harming the cats in any way will be asked to leave without a refund.
