The Nonresident Tag Drawing application period for general season deer/elk tags starts today through December 15.

🪪 Hunters will be required to buy a 2026 hunting license valid to hunt big game to apply. All hunting license purchases are nonrefundable.

The day I packed a crosscut saw into the backcountry for the Forest Service was the day I realized I had actually become a packer. That was just the beginning of a whole lot of other weird things I now lash onto mules and carry into the wilderness. 😂

I’ve spent more nights in a wall tent than a house the last few years.

I’ve fought snow, rain, wind, and stock that had their own opinions.

I’ve tracked wounded bears in the dark, climbed ridges till my legs shook, and questioned more than once if this life was too hard.

Then a moment like this reminds me exactly why I keep choosing it.

This is the biggest mule deer I’ve guided so far…
but what I’m proud of isn’t the antlers—
it’s the grit it took to get here.

It’s been an incredible year! I’m so thankful to live the life of a hunting guide, to share the outdoors with others who appreciate them as much as I do, and for everyone who has encouraged me and helped along the way.

Some people chase comfort.
Some of us are just too stubborn to quit.

Tag someone who understands what this life is about and follow along if you love the outdoors as much as I do.

Tonight I stood under a sky painted by God’s own hand.
The northern lights danced above the little wall tent — a reminder that some of the most beautiful things in life can’t be planned, only witnessed.

Out here, it’s easy to forget the noise of the world and remember what really matters — faith, freedom, and the wild places that keep us humble. 🌌🏕️
