It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.

My life is entering a season of change, and with that, it’s time to let go of the rabbits.

I got my very first rabbit back in 2008. Years later, that turned into a pair of Hollands. From there, what started as “just one litter” turned into a 4H project and later grew into a passion.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to raise and show some truly wonderful rabbits. But the real heartbeat of this hobby has always been the people. The friends made along the way. The mentors who shared their wisdom. The countless memories formed through long drives, early mornings, busy show days, and chaotic extra-curricular adventures.

To every judge, secretary, exhibitor, and fellow breeder who has shared this journey with me — thank you. Your kindness, support, and friendship have meant more than you’ll ever know. While every community has its challenges, I’ve been fortunate to find some of the very best people in this one, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
And of course, a special thank you to my parents, who encouraged this passion from the very beginning.

This journey is hard to summarize in words, and nearly impossible to capture in a single post. Rabbit breeding has truly shaped who I am today, and I am forever grateful for the experiences, lessons, and friendships it has given me.

As for what’s next, Ashley will be caring for eight of my meat rabbits while I take this hiatus. The rest are available to new homes.

This isn’t the end. It’s simply a pause; until the next chapter begins.

First time bringing Hollands to a show in a long time 🎉🎉

I’m pretty happy with this mother/daughter duo. Their bodies are definitely the direction I’m excited to see the breed go in the future. The senior doe happened to be in condition with a prime line, while the jr doe looks like she recently wandered through a car wash.

While it wasn’t my day on the tables with Hollands or Cals, Jackie Hambrick-Sutton for running a great show and bringing Scott in to judge!

Thank you Scott Rodriguez for keeping ARBA well and alive in District 1, and being a great judge to write for as we hustled a few hundred rabbits across the table as painlessly as possible.

I’m absolutely over the moon with how my 2022 ARBA National Convention went!

🌟1st Place Open Polish Lilac Sr. Doe🌟
Diegel’s Frejia

Thank you so much to the CRCS for hosting another well run convention, the judges for judging, and to each of the breed clubs for the beautiful awards.

With only 2 French Lop entries, I am extremely humbled to have brought home my very first Open Convention Best of Breed.

Additionally, I only brought 4 Californians to show and I’m humbled to have won 5th place Jr doe, 6th place Jr buck, and 1st place intermediate does. The overall quality of the cals were top notch with an excellent animal from each corner of the US, and I’m proud to be up there with the best of them as selected by two legendary judges.

With the Open Polish I’m most proud of bringing home 3rd place black sr doe in a deep class. While she did not eat until the drive home, I am happy to say she’s doing well, and retired to be a brood doe.

My show Holland entry ended up going off feed before the trek to Reno began, so she stayed home. I was shocked to have 2 in the top ten. Thank you to Chris Zemny for hosting yet another beautiful banquet. However the most exciting part of Hollands at convention was getting to watch Alysia win BOB Open Hollands!!!

Thank you to the mentors in my breeds and friends throughout the hobby to make my Convention 2022 something truly special. And most importantly, thank you Ashley for joining me on this adventure!

As I work on wrapping up my convention entries, I’d like to invite everyone to my au*ct.tion. I know it feels like everyone’s doing an au.ct*n these days, but like many others this year, I’ve felt overwhelmed by the interest in my herd.

I’m extremely honored to have so much interest in my animals. This platform streamlines the process of sharing my projects with those interested.

Closes

Included in this selection is a variety of Hollands, Polish, and Californians from my barn, and Mini Satins from Montana Sky Ranch.

Rabbits are entered in Convention under our names and will be transported, cooped and cared for throughout the week. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Friends, enemies, and everyone else browsing the internet with nothing better to do,

I have started to go through my herd with a critical eye with the hopes of only wintering a few rabbits. Many of my favorites are looking for new barns. I will be continuing to update my list on my website to keep it as accurate as possible. (Emailing me at [email protected] is the best way to contact me if you have any questions)

Transport to Reno for Convention can be arranged!! 🚛

When people ask me how convention prep is going… how it started vs how it’s going

Hopefully my rabbits stay on the table at convention because this bu**er is getting fast 😂
Pro tip: let one of your rabbits jump off the table from you outside. You, too, can be in great shape by the time we’re strutting through the Atlantis to our banquets

Thank you Ashley Ball for consistently running the best show our valley has ever seen.

While it's been a strange spring with no Hollands to show from my barn (don't worry they're all just having babies), I had a great time with my other breeds!

I was honored to bring home two RIS with two different rabbits.

Diegel's Swiper No Swiping - Black Polish Sr. Doe
Reserve in Show - Kathi Groves

Diegel's Exposure Wheel - Californian Sr. Buck
Reserve in Show - Zachary Newman

Thank you to the judges who made the trek out here, and congratulations to the other winners. Winning RIS under Kathi with polish was truly a highlight of my breeding career, and one of the proudest moments I've had in the hobby. Thank you Kathi.

It was so refreshing to take out a small show team and see my local rabbit friends!

I would like to thank everyone who helped and the GRB for leaping over all of the obstacles to make it happen.

I was honored to bring home my first RIS with a homegrown French Lop doe. Thank you Lynn Eden for sending me some wonderful French Lop stock and helping me all along the way!
